We had over 30 entries of poetry and if you'd like to read them all check out the thread that's on November 12th.

We had three judges who were each asked to volunteer three choices as their favorites (without discussion with each other)

There was one writer that was mentioned in all three lists!
It was our Lily June!  So she has won a brand new BMW Sports Car and an application has been filled out for a pulitzer prize for liturature.

 Her two amazing poems are:

 her ink to my skin
sheer fabric reveals tatoos
 more than imagined

 she spilled wine kisses
teased my drenched waiting mouth heart
 left on the ferry


The judges also chose:
 Herr Zunge's "A firm young rosebud"
 Diablerie's "A smile so brilliant"
 Turkana's "four lovers since you"
 KCshyguy's "What were you thinking"
 FreedomRider's "Seductive Purring"
 Self Destruct's "Face Down Ass Up Fuck"
and one of Zinaval's was mentioned...I believe it was "Forceful Contractions"

A few of you boys mentioned being in heaven....a pattern was developing there!

Some of you broke the syllable barrier with wild abandon, the most inventive was Nicole with her sexy and popular poems:
"Even Semen Sweet"  and "Intensity of Purpose"
showing that breaking the rules can be rewarding and fulfilling.

"Face Down Ass Up Fuck"?  Ewwww JP, thank god I elected to stay hunting those Tassie Devils.

That moment was far from crude for me...it was just a PSE way of phrasing it.

Three judges, three votes each = nine total votes.

All three chose Lily June (no surprise to me ...

That leaves six choices, and you mentioned seven.

Did you use a Diebold machine or something?  Hanging chad?

Some of the judges turned in their ballots before all the poems were posted....   I don't want to comment on who took their jolly sweet time putting up a poem but his initials are Mr. SD.

So Zinaval's fine efforts were a very honorable mention.

I am bad at math.  But not really at this level.

But, the (real) compliment from VonRyan was worth more to me than that (virtual) Beemer would be, anyway.  You _were_ just kidding about the car, weren't you?

WOW!  Thanks.  I wish you all could have witnessed my woop of pure flush faced surprise.  I'd forgotten it was a contest and just couldn't resist a poetry challenge.  I would never have guessed that I'd have a chance against "Even Semen Sweets." How could anyone even notice the syllable break?  Odd to think how the contestants here probably shared the same muses.  Cheers to the muses!

Oh yeah, thanks for the car and I'll see ya at the awards dinner where we will be eating Bambi.

Absolutely loved the Bambi Recipie Haiku.  Infact I may embroider it on a throw-pillow.  

I meant to mention it in the results...sorry.
I don't think our judges looked over that "venison stew thread" to find Erotic Haiku...but there's nothing quite as erotic as freshly made Jerkey.

I had no idea you were so domestic, JP.  Might I suggest you embroider it on an apron, instead (you know, for when you cook up a batch of that jerky)?

Lily June's really were superior, though it's hard to compare "savory jerky" to "she spilled wine kisses," don'cha think?

But for marketing purposes...you're idea is much nicer.
We can write a series of cooking recipies/poems and embroider them on every damn thing you can think of!  Hats, aprons, pillows, wall hangings, tea-cozies and hot pads!

Oooo Laurel....this could be our moment!

P.S.
And don't sell short your writing skills, Luscious, because there was an inherent smoothness to your lyric that kept the flow going in the poem and allowed me to capture your meaning without the choppiness or forcing that many poets fall into.  You made it feel effortless.  True Japanese simplicity is very hard to express.  

And I've read the ones on your website already.
