I have a hobby phone but I had preferred to use my cell for a couple of ladies I trust. This is what happened. I checked my car, it was good. I drove to an incall, it was still good when I got there AFAIK. I didn’t check though. Five hours later there was a flat tire. I drove away on it since I didn’t want to make a scene at the incall. At first I thought nothing of it. A couple of days later the tire tech said there was no sign of damage apart from what I caused by driving on it until I changed to my spare. I thought that was weird but not too concerned. Who would track me down? No SO to worry about.

Weeks later I get new info. There are 2-3 folks, not-friends, in that area that I’ve had bad dealings since long before I hobbied. A now DNS provider I used to see frequently and trusted is the link. She’s outed me to at least these not-friends.  My not-friends happen to be  WKs of hers. What are the odds of that? So it’s possible, but farfetched, that since she had access to the same SIM card but in a different phone that I could be tracked by an application like the one in the link below. Text and GPS monitoring could have given away my location.

I figure the odds at 50-50 that my flat was due to damage en route or sabotage, no big deal. But I want to make sure I am not being tracked. So here are the questions.....

One of the WKs has a position of some responsibility in a government department that taps phones. Pussy is a powerful motivator and some WK might abuse authority.

I  think you are reading way more into a flat tire. when the temperature changes sometimes you loose pressure in your tires.  My tire was low this morning.

It's simple, if you are afraid that your cell phone is being tracked, hacked, tapped, or whatever, either leave it at home or turn it off and remove the battery and use your hobby phone.

There are these guys who have been insanely obsessed for years with getting you back about something. They have these crazy spy skills to bug and track you all over the place. They track you down and make their move. . .   The give you a flat tire.

Things were quiet for years. In the last year and a half there have been third party communications directed at my work place and home. I'm not sure if they are responsible for the tire. It would be the first time they did anything physical.

The only thing I am sure about is that I want to be sure that there are no tracking apps on my personal cell phone.

I omitted a lot of detail. I know my post might interpreted in just that way. It's all good.

To be on the safe side, charge up the old phone and hide it on a long distance (cross country) train or bus (not a jet or they'll lose your signal). By the time a cleaning crew or passenger finds it, the battery will be discharged and your stalkers will have followed "you" 500-2000 miles away from your real location.

In the meantime, ask Q at MI6 for a new phone.

WK stands for "White Knight". It is a client who will try to score points with a provider by doing favors. The favors may not be legit.

IF (big if) there is tracking software, it is on the phone. Not the SIM.

Second, the phone still has the serial number, which (if they really have skills) could be tracked

Third, this shit that you suggest is not easy for ANYONE.

The only likely scenario, is if you have a smart phone. There are viruses, etc. and apps that can be used to track a phone. You can also dump and reload software on those things. All depends on your phone.

You could take it in to get reloaded by the service provider while you add another layer of foil to your bathroom.

First, it sounds like you're off your rocker paranoid and it's 99.9% chance that a natural, slow leak killed your tire (unless the mechanic tested it under water, a quick visual inspection rarely finds more than the most obvious of nail holes).

BUT, if you have something to go on OTHER than a flat tire (and wouldn't it be so much easier to slash or obviously puncture your tire if someone was into making trouble for you? Think of the time involved and likelihood of the perp getting caught - would they rather hover over your tire for however long it takes to release the air through the valve - not making a mark on the tire - or would they rather make a quick slash as they walked by? I digress...)....

Anyone who knows how to track you via your cell phone GPS/App knows (or can easily find out) your real name, home address, SS#, banking info, etc.  That being the case you'll likely need to do what I had to do when confronted with a serious stalker... Change your SS#, change your legal name (do so in a state different than the one you live- yes, you'll need to find out what residency requirements are), move your physical location, close all your existing bank/credit accounts but first have someone you TRUST (family member?) establish all these things using your old info in another state.  That way when your stalker goes to find you, it looks as though you moved from State X to State Y and then closed your info out.  Meanwhile, you actually established residency in State Z, changed your complete ID, and reestablished yourself under the new ID back in your home State X.  

Yes, this is a PIA and no, it's not entirely fool-proof.  This was what I had to go through to to shake a terrifying stalker of 2 years.  It's worked for almost 6 years now....

You might indeed have had sabotage...  some AH who had a beef with you spotted your car.    

Alloy wheels are known for having sealing problems...  I've had random flats on my daily driver for a couple of years.   About the third time to a different tire stop almost stopped it but I still must be watchful.

Mutually Assured Destruction. They already know everything about me. I know everthing about them. It is a balncing act. From twenty to fifteen years ago there was a bit of a war. Until one to two years ago there was peace. The peace was destroyed by a provider discussing me with at least one of them. Maybe they thought that would tip the balance in their favor.

Of course I have more to go on than a flat tire. That was the most interesting recent incident to me because I worry that they escalated to something physical.

For the first month after the flat I thought nothing much of it. Then another piece of info had me reassessing whether I had been too confident that the flat was only a flat. Likely the flat was only a flat. I can't make afford to the changes you had to make. But then, neither can they.

This thread is about serving notice that they can be satisfied that they've "got my goat" or worried that they have gone too far. The same strategy worked fifteen years ago to establish the peace. Maybe it will work again.

It went about as expected. One small surprise, but an interesting one.
