Recently, many of my ATF's have told me they get phone dozens or maybe even a hundred phone calls a day.

I know most providers today won't take Caller ID blocked calls and just don't answer them.

But I was wondering how many phone calls, on average, a provider gets per day. How many are crank or pervert calls? How many are kids goofing off?  How many are wives?  hehe

Also, can you configure your phone service so that blocked calls don't even get through at all, so the phone doesn't even ring?

PS. I use a disposable cell phone for my hobbying.  No bills, no paper trail, no nothing.

Personally I do get dozens (if not a hundred) calls a day if I don't pick up.  But a good precentage of those are the same person calling back and not wanting to leave a message.  Unique callers - probably 2 dozen.  But about half of those will be regulars just calling to say hi.  The other half are inquiries - and most of those are sincere.  The 'phone sex' calls usually are left on my voice mail (a couple a week) by really drunk people once the bars close.  Not sure exactly how they get off by talking to a machine, but they seem to.

A wife or girlfriend will call every 3 or 4 months.

As for call blocking anonamous calls, it is really no problem.  That service is only a couple dollars a month, and the caller just gets a message that says "The person you are calling does not accept anonamous calls.  Please press *82 to reveal your number, or call back from an unblocked line".  The phone will not even ring on our end, the caller can't leave a voice message.

Angel;
You mentioned calls from wives or SOs. If it is not too invasive, do you mind detailing what they are normally looking for or asking when they call?  I am single with no SO and none planned, but my curiosity on this subject is large.

One thing I tell a "wife" when she calls is that I am an independent jewelry designer...I ask for her husbands name so I figure out who the guy is she is calling about. I pretend to look hi up. I may say that I get calls like this all the time and understand how it may look, but can reassure her that she should feel lucky that her husband is going to such an extent to pick her out a special gift. I explain that my designs take months to complete~thus covering any special date (i.e., anniversary, birthday, Christmas). I mention that I have done a consultation and maybe even talked to him various times the last few days,weeks, months, ect whatever seems appropriate  to the client she is referring to. I know my clients pretty well and have even known on wife's name so it went very well.....She got off the phone thinking that he was acting funny due to the fact he was planning a surprise for her. Of course, I then proceed to do a follow up with the client and advise him that the next special day with his wife he better present her with an impressive piece of jewelry!! ;)

what do you think about the guys just calling to say Hi?

There's a couple guys I know who will say something like "I talked to so-and-so yesterday", when I know good and well they hadn't arranged a date.  Personally, I'd be afraid of chasing off one of my ATFs by wasting her time calling to just say Hi.

And another question is how many emails in a day? A provider told me yesterday that she gets 100 a day!
