Do you think any agencies use hidden camera in hotel rooms?

Of corse not. That would exude too much energy for a simple encounter.

Dear Ms. Moore:
If they knew that it has been hot or infested with LE would they do that to protect themselves? That way they would use the tape or video to protect themselves if the person has been known to entrap women. Or would they do that with a powerful person just in case they would try to turn on them at a later date because of the potential embarrassment that it would cause him and his family? Once they have they video it should be in theory be enough to determine if the parties in question met the standard of infraction to become prosecutable and non- prosecutable.  Anyone who is half way cerebral might consider it considering what the climate would be with respect to government and law enforcement. Although it is a little bit of energy and money, if one is interested in preserving their business they would do that. As well they can also weed certain employees out that go across the line as well.  You certainly would be correct for most but the majority but the madames and owners who have been in the business for a while would make the investment to preserve their livelyhood. Although it has been a while, I would wonder about the questions that you would have for Xaviera Hollander when she was a working madame in New York with respect to this subject. That would be an excellent legal and political labratory in where those exact questions would come up. As you read the happy hooker, I am sure that there are instances where she is confronted with this.

How exactly would keeping evidence of their own felonious activities preserve their livelihood?

If any tape proves the other party "guilty" it would prove the agency "guilty" as well.

Not to mention, for the escort and the client the infraction is a misdemeanor...for the agency it is a felony.  To assure they had something to hold over someone else they would keep evidence that would be of greater detriment to themselves?  That would be beneficial to the agency how exactly?

Dear Web Terrorist:
That would be beneficial when the detective is lying and it is his word vs the pro's word. Although they can testify to certain thing there is no proof like something visual and audible.

of course the agencies all keep the hotel rooms wired to record sound and video of all the clients they have, so that they can later corner the market on hot girl with so-so guy porn sites all over the internet.

They laugh at the very idea that doing so would be evidence against them as much as it would a client, and save them all with humiliating nicknames for each client as the titles, and should business ever falter they can use them as blackmail material.

They are like the KGB and can put cameras in alarm clocks.

but this was many many years ago... I worked for an agency in the mid 90's.. then went back to stripping for a couple of years before going independent in the biz in 1999.

the agency had the girls (me at least so must assume they had every employee) bring in audio recording equipment and record the sessions when we visited men at their locations. We had special bags they gave us with false bottoms for the equipment.

They said it was to defend against possible entrapment. Maybe it was to make sure the girls weren't trying to operate outside of the agency by asking clients to contact them without the intermediary... not sure how well the equipment even worked...

But it did happen.  You decide why.
and no I won't tell you the agency name BUT
they are fairly large and still in business.
Whether they still record things ...no idea.

Trust no one. When you are on someone else's turf, no matter how nice they might appear, video and audio recording is not hard to accomplish for a real pro. I don't think it is typical because most people don't fall for extortion. This isn't the movies.

He set up cameras in the rooms that shot through the mirror at the far end of the room.  It was one of those cheapie motels where the door opens to the parking lot and there is a service corridor between the rooms that he could get into and set up the camera.

There are a lot of porn sites with candid sex scenes in motels.

They had to get them somewhere.

Avoid those cheap motels if you don't want to become an accidental porn star.

Why would they do this? If an agency would do it why wouldn't an indie do it as well?

Not something to worry much about if you hobby...just another low probability risk you are taking.  It has definitely been done by providers, though.
