To anyone so inclined, the address is below.

Downtown San Diego is starting to not smell like a chimney anymore.  To quote Robert Plant, "I can breathe again!"...and I can see stars tonight!

Now the hard part comes...those people in Scripps Ranch (or La Mirada, or Simi Valley) going back to their homes.

After the outrageous behaviour by the American Red Cross after 9/11 I am a little reluctant to send money to the ARC.

With all the television reports of aid for those who have been displaced, the first Organization on hand giving food, clothings, shelter and financial aid was the Salvation Army.

They ask for nothing, nobody gets a paycheck from them and they do a fabulous job.  If you feel like helping, go to the link below.

I know it's a common practice of the news media but the
Ch.4 interview of the couple next to their incinerated home this morning was tasteless and not needed.

Tell me about it!
Sunday A.M. I was waiting for the football games to come on. The local station rather than show the game decided that the fire was more important than the game so they went with the fire. Every damn channel was covering the fire.
So, they decide to do a close up of a man who had discovered that his 2 children had perished in their car. Thanks newscast for showing me a full grown man break down into tears. Then collapse to the ground in grief. They let the camara roll for at least a minute on this poor guy. I felt his grief, his pain. It ruined my day or at least the next hour. Way to go. Way to bring down my day.
I hate the way the news tries to be hard hitting at all costs. So much focus on the negative. Just show me the horrible fire. Tell me about this poor guys terrible news. Don't decide to show him for minutes on end crying. I really wanted to go down to the news station and beat the tar out of the station manager for that. especially when the news anchor says" we now the audience wants to see football, but this is way too important". What is? Showng some poor guys grief.
Good luck to those that lost their homes and loved ones.

What about the attack on the hotel in Iraq.  No shit, isn't there a war going on.  What killed me was they first interupt the program with their news break and say the hotel was under attack about 8 F'n times (but that some politician or whoever is okay).   Then, back to the program.  5 minutes later they come back again saying the hotel is being evacuated because of the attack - No shit.  I was waiting for another interuption informing us that the hotel is cancelling reservations due to the recent attack (but that WhatsHisName is still okay).

I know when I die I want it televised.
