Valet Parking

I live in a smallish city where valet parking is unheard of. But I knew that when I went to visit a lovely lady yesterday at a major upscale hotel in LA I could expect to find it.  Indeed, the valets took my car and gave me a ticket.  Curious about the cost, I inquired inside and discovered the valet parking costs $40!  Well this is pay to play so you better be prepared to pay for ancillary expenses as you encounter them.  But I also discovered that the restaurant would validate your parking ticket if you ate a meal there.

I had a wonderful time visiting the lady.  Afterwards, I went to the hotel restaurant and ate a really wonderful meal.  Really good food and great service. The meal, with tax and tip only cost $24.  When they validated my parking ticket, I only had to pay the valet service $5 instead of $40.  Even giving the valet a tip, I saved more money on the parking than the cost of the meal.

I suppose you guys who are used to this will find someway to make fun of my post.  But I offer this info in the spirit of helping others negotiating the complex world of hobbying, who, like me, may not be familiar with big city ways.

And NOT pineapple juice, right?

OH! That reminds me. What is the pineapple juice to jizz ratio to make sure semen tastes ok? Any idea? Any ladies or Turdwell have any suggestions?

A newbie hooker asked the other day and I don't want to give out bad info.

"Afterwards, I went to the hotel restaurant and ate a really wonderful meal.  Really good food and great service." I think he got the fruit salad & quiche special.

I'm pretty sure it was just him.
Still sounds like he found a deal. Don't know too many hotels with 40 buck valet parking and 20 dollar meals. You have a hard time getting a sandwich for that at some hotels.

Don't listen to these meanies making fun.  It is super nice you offered that info.
Some hotels with active bars will also validate if you are going to the bar for a cocktail. xx

Hell...I would have just asked the restaurant to validate my parking.  And if they wouldn't have I would consider going to the front desk and seeing if they would.

But I'm a cheap dude.

I wonder if valet used his car like they did in Ferris Bueller

I've even had to pay more than that. It depends on the valet's mood at the time. They don't work for the motel and they suggest it's a good idea to valet if you want to find your car the next morning. But it is a different kind of valet, they approach you after you've parked.

So I guess you can eat for $24 at a "decent" hotel in LA. Lordy only knows if that included tipping the waiter/waitress!

Oh, really.

Left the car with the valet but took the key in a rush.  He cannot move car, searches glove compartment, finds a repair bill that erroneously lists my home phone as my cell.  Calls home, wife calls me.  Fortunately had just finished and years in the hobby have taught me to think on my feet.  Now I just take a taxi

Considering how much he came out ahead, if saw that lady at the same hotel every day for a year or so he could be a very rich man!

Once again some of you guys seem to just like to trash people for no good reason, just to be mean and hurtful I guess.  But here's some more info.  The hotel was the Omni in downtown Los Angeles, not the motel 6.  The lunch buffet cost $17 which I thought was very reasonable considering the venue.  The food was superb: succulent steak, chicken, many salads, soups, beautiful desserts.  So eating a fine lunch wound up actually saving some money, a deal I found extraordinary in this expensive city and worth passing along to my "friends" here.  Of course I had expected valet parking as I made clear in my op.  Why you find fault with this helpful post yet are content to allow discussions of boogers go unchallenged is beyond me.

Remember this is TER and of it was a 10/10 some might want more juicy details to consider if they would go there.

BTW...they did valet park the car.  And you're surprised they wanted to charge for it.

Do they have buffets in Mayberry?

I'm with you on this. Some of these guys just like to hide in the bushes and wait for the opportunity to reticule and criticize. It's always the same group of clingons! Don't let them get to you. It's just their mission in life. They can't help themselves. Sounds like you had a good session and returned home with a full belly. Doesn't get any better than that.

My cheap ass normally don't wanna get ripped off with valet cuz I drive using my hobby hand for the hobby stick shift for my hobby sports car while the other hand is holding my hobby dick. But, usually there's heavy hobby traffic on the way so I often end up doing a hobby valet cuz I don't have time to waste.

The other day I noticed I only paid $12 hobby dollars for 1 hr at Four Seasons!  $12 at 4 seasons, why not?

Heck, even if they charged $30 I'd still valet when I go to the city cuz it's much better than spending 30 minutes trying to find a fucking parking in that jammed up spaceless headache they call a city.  In fact the only time I'd NOT park valet when I go downtown is when there's an empty street parking right in front of me.  I'd pull my hair out (my hobby pubic hair) just thinking about the hobby parking induced headache.  Valet saves the day!

That made me laugh out loud this morning and made me realize why I shouldn't take my phone into the shitter with me. My wife wanted to know what was so funny. I had to tell her one of my turds looked like Mount Rushmore as I flushed away the evidence!
