The search of the car and evidence could be tossed out if there wasn't enough probable cause to justify the search.  It's hard to believe that just having a young person in one's car is justification for such Getstapo tactics.

...just BS.  You didn't get the full story.  Chances are, the cop could tell the provider was under the influence.  If she wasn't, he'll lie in court and say she was.  He'll use the drugs to prove that his hunch that she was high was correct.

If there was no reason for a search other than "age disparity", the guy should have insisted that a supervising officer be called to the scene.

A monger I'm familiar with on another board is now in a heap of LE trouble after serially doing some very stupid shit with a provider.  Without getting into inappropriate detail, here are a few things to avoid:
1) If you're an older gent, it's probably not wise to tool around in your car with a hot, young provider unless she's your daughter.  The story I heard, BTW, is NOT the one OSP told here a few weeks ago.  He has other reasons for being in that situation, which is not what I'm talking about here.  Squiring a provider around in your car is appealing.  I haven't done it, but might.  Still, if you do it, know that you're exposing yourself of attention from LE.
2) If you're going to do the above, don't increase your exposure with a driving infraction.  This poor guy did and was pulled over.  Because of the age disparity, the car and the provider were searched by Uncle LEO.
3) If you're going to do steps 1) and 2) anyway, try to make sure your "date" isn't a druggie.  This one was, and a controlled substance was found on her person.  This poor monger had an attack of extreme White Knightism and told the cops the drugs were his.  Now he's up on felony possession charges.  It was a truly noble act, especially since this was his first "date" with the gal and they hadn't even had sex yet.  In a way, I admire his noble deed.  I wonder if I'd have been as noble.  I doubt it.  Among the other things confiscated was his burn phone, full of #s.
4) Once you've been busted, better keep a low profile.  But not this guy.  He went on a local board and blabbed all about it.  Now the cops presumably know his handle and who the many gals are he's reviewed.  And, of course, they have lots of evidence proving him a serial john.  Needless to say, the thread was pulled, so even if you knew what board he was on you couldn't find it, or any trace of him.
It's a real mess and I feel badly for him, as he seemed like a nice guy.  But he's only got himself to blame.  No need for anyone else to go down this way.

Rarely have I given providers rides in my car but I have done so.  I try to drive safely & sanely but if Uncle LEO wants to pull your over, they can follow you until they feel justified in finding some tiny infraction that they would never pull someone over for unless they were trying to bust their chops.  
I'm not going to blab about what a young lady & myself have planned or done in the past.  Period.  "Am I free to go?"  If not STFU.
It's really hard to tell if a given person you have just met has drugs in their possesion...  but if they do, they are on their own.  
I erase all calls from my hobby phone before I start on my trip home.  The only number ever in it is the person I am meeting.  It's a PITA because I have to get internet access to get into my bucket list...  but I feel it's good security.   If the hobby phone is recovered by the SO or LE, it is suspicious as hell, but why GIVE it to them with no effort at all.  I'm betting for a suspicion or even a petty misdeamor, they are not going to get a supoena.  Now for a drug case, they can use that as an excuse to dig into your phone contents with the goal of finding the drug dealer.  Really dumb.  
TER servers are in Netherlands where prostitution is legal...  so unlikely a supoena would be honored.  Neatherlands drug laws are more liberal that here but I'd not want to test the limits.  
Posting about a bust so soon after the occurance is probably unwise.  Much of TER is public access & that includes LE.  
Probably a nice guy but we all need to be security conscious at all times.

Refuse permission to search.  Don't try to physically resist a search, of course, but make sure to give a clear refusal of consent.  It might not help(there are situations where a warrant isn't needed), but it might.

Never claim that someone elses drugs are yours.  Don't admit that your drugs are yours except on the advice of an attorney.  Just say you don't know.

Don't talk about it publicly.  Not until it's been worked its way through the courts at least, or it's in a controlled situation under the advice of an attorney.

If he hadn't claimed the drugs were his, there's a good chance he'd have been let go for lack of evidence.  Refusal of the search might have gotten both of them off the hook if the girl wasn't underage.

He might have tried to do a nice thing, but damn, that was stupid.

If the story is as you told it, the search is bogus and the drugs discovered will be ruled inadmissible at any trial.  Having a hottie in your passenger seat or blowing through a stop sign or speeding does not provide probable cause for a search.  

Nevertheless, unless the drug was marijuana, for which possession alone of small amounts is a misdemeanor in most states, I cannot imagine why he had any obligation to claim the drug was his.  I would be pissed that she brought any with her while coming out with me.  

The admissions he may have made voluntarily may be a different matter.  Another example of why the standard lawyer's advice of keeping your GD mouth shut once under LE suspicion is wise.  If the search is bogus he needlessly handed LE evidence to charge him with solicitation.  Dumbass.
