Pink was a childish attempt to fill an album. I like the song myself but saw an interview and they commented on Steven whering a lot of pink and if it was due to that the song was written. Merely a coincidence they stated and it was written to fill an album.
I can't think of a better anthem type song from start to finish.
Alas, it is all hog wash. One of the things I hate about the internet and Wikipedia is that they have a way of undercutting one's legends.
Dwight Fry was a ordinary (but very underrated) character actor who had to supplant his meager earnnings with a day job as an engineer. He passed away of a heart attack while riding the bus to work. What a way to go.
Check out his "Rats, millions of rats" soliloquy on Tod Browning's movie of Dracula (the one with Bela Lugosi) sometimes. It is his best moment and one of Hollywood's shining moments too.
