Providers who don't follow through with verification

A couple of weeks ago I was arranging an appointment with a provider who has a decent number of positive reviews.  I gave her my P411 ID for verification.  I am set up to get notifications when a provider has viewed my P411 profile, which is what I typically get before a provider schedules me.  In this case, she gave me the go ahead, along with information about the hotel, but apparently without first confirming my verification info on P411 (as I received no notification).  I wasn't sure whether to interpret that as a red flag, but it did give me concerns and I backed out.  It's possible she would have checked closer to the appointment, but it still seemed odd to me.  Then this weekend I was scheduling with another provider (who had a handful of reviews, all very strong) for an appointment that occurred yesterday.  Gave her my P411 info.  (I should note that both this provider and the previous one have P411 accounts).  I never received a notification that she viewed my profile.  This time, I went ahead with the appointment anyway.  Glad I did - great time.  But why wouldn't a provider check my profile to verify, when that's the only basis she has for trusting me?  It makes me nervous about who I'm communicating with, and at least seems to raise a question about the provider's judgment.  Or am I misunderstanding how P411 works? (In which case I apologize for my long-windedness about this).

... that looking at your P411 profile is the only way that providers have to verify someone.

It's not.

This has happened to me a couple of times with providers who are on P411.  They never looked at my profile before they cleared me.  But I know these providers to be very careful about new clients, and I know they verified me somehow.  For example, I think the P411 request email has some info in it that can be used to screen.  Also, what did you say in your message that was part of the request?

In neither case did I send the request through P411.  In the first case, I sent a text; in the second, an e-mail.   In my initial inquiry about availability, I indicated that I could provide a P411 client ID for verification, which I did in the second text and e-mail.

As I said, there's more than one way to screen.  There's some good threads on the Newbie board on that subject.

You stated in your OP that you gave your P411 ID.  Then in your reply above you said you gave it later.  Clarity is really appreciated when giving details about a situation.

And I never said YOU sent your requests through P411.  I simply pointed out that P411 requests have info that could be used for screening.

The statement in my OP about giving my P411 ID did not imply anything about the point at which I gave the ID.  The relevant thing is that that is what I provided for verification, and that it was apparently never checked. You seem to be seeking clarity from a distinction that has no significance.

Okay.  Thanks.  I'll take a look there.

your alias right now, if the email address you used to contact her is the same one you use for your TER account, providers can search it and it will give them your real TER handle, not your alias.  Same with your hobby phone, if it is in your TER member profile.

...search a monger by phone. TER doesn't have a mongers phone number. It isn't in the account information.

a provider.  If its not right, I stand corrected.  Thank you.

Just like P 411 is not the only tool in their bag, neither is TER.

Depending on whether or not he is using a burner phone, just a simple Google search can turn up your life history with nothing but your phone number.

Personally as long as a lady doesn't make me jump through hoops and have me doing all her work for her, I really don't care what she does to make herself feel safe, as long as SHE checks out, I don't care what she does to make sure I check out.

I've belonged to P411 for about a year and have probably set up 7-8 dates where I was seeing an independent for the first time or it was the first girl I was seeing at an agency, so I'd expect them to verify.

In more than half the cases they didn't check my P411 profile. I know in at least a couple of those cases I had given 3 providers as references who they contacted. I usually provide my TER handle as well, so they might be checking references from here as well.

As long as I'm comfortable that the girl is legit, I don't really care what she does to verify me once I've given her the info that I'm comfortable giving.

Please, send an appointment request THROUGH p411 THEN send in the form on her site.  If you send a PM through TER too, I'm sure most ladies would agree, it DEFINITELY speeds up screening and less chance of "weird vibes"

After all it was the Holidays, maybe both ladies had Long Christmas shopping lists and needed the cash for presents.

I've had a few p411 requests approved where they never viewed my profile.

Perhaps try doing a "litmus test" and ask a provider you've seen to look at your profile to see if you get the notification.  If she does look and you don't get the notification contact P411.
I love being able to see the profile of who is requesting me, it gives me a little idea of what they like, if the details are filled in.
If in doubt I'd always ask how they screened you.  You're totally right for being uncomfortable if they don't!  I'd be worried too If I gave all the info yet nothing was checked.

First, thanks for all the input.  And I did confirm my notifications are working and that they aren't going to spam.

I'm thinking the most plausible explanation is that the providers believed that the mere fact I was giving them my P411 ID was enough to make them comfortable that I am legit.  Why, the thought may run, would a guy bother providing such specific info  if it wasn't  good.  And it may be that in every instance the client has given them the ID it has been legit when they checked it.  So, from their perspective, the may feel they did a screening.   If that's the case, I don't think it's the wisest approach.  But I guess it's not totally unreasonable.

Did you READ any of the posts above?  How many of them pointed out that there's several ways to screen someone without looking at their P411 profile?  (Several)  And how many of them said it's likely that the mere fact you gave the providers your P411 ID was enough to make them comfortable you're legit?  (Zero)

If in fact that's what happened--these two providers saw your P411 ID and thought, "Cool, he's legit, I'll confirm the date", I'd be very concerned about seeing them.  It's pretty common for providers to be sent screening info, like references, that don't check out.  A P411 ID could be made up, or it could have no OKs, or old OKs that are worthless for screening purposes.

No... the most plausible explanation is, you WERE screened.  Just not by looking at your P411 profile.

Yes, I read all of the posts.  I can see where you're coming from, given that I didn't sufficiently elaborate on how I arrived at my conclusion.  In the cases at hand, the e-mail address and phone I used were not ones that could be traced to details about myself or my history as a client.  You'd have to have highly sophisticated methods (like those available to LE or hackers) to trace them to me, which I think it's reasonable to assume they don't have.  And in the absence of tracing me via my phone or e-mail, what is the alternative for screening? On the other hand, one of them was a Russian, so maybe . . .

I would like to disabuse anyone of the idea that a gal will not screen just because someone offers info that could be bogus.

It would be like a TSA inspector not inspecting someone's bag because, who would try to get contraband past the TSA in the first place?

Give the gals more credit than that.

We can easily check you through other methods.  A good provider would never just accept that as a reference.  You could be an imposter.  She is probably screening you another way that isn't intrusive.  Plus, she may have friends that have seen you and she won't tell you that.

Happened to me, too. So afterwards while we were talking I asked her how she screened me. Seems she did some real sneaky high-tech stuff.

Her best friend was sitting there at her place when my appointment request showed up. I visited best friend the week before. Request was approved instantly, good times were had and had again!

About half the time they don't view the profile. I was told by one of the ladies who didn't view it that she did talk to one of the other providers who gave me an okay so apparently they can see that information without actually viewing your profile.

I send them an email to their private email from ter, get a phone number, and ask the providers I trust and know. It's simple

As others have said perhaps the providers verified you another way besides checking your P411 profile.
Whenever a guy sends me a P411 request I always view his profile.I like to see if he filled out details about himself and his references from other providers. Some guys are quite detailed on their profiles.

I'm all for only doing what seems like the next right thing, but it really sounds like the OP over thinks the provider's job instead of focusing on his part.
If the ladies are smart, they aren't going to let us know all their processes for screening. Some things are just none of my business. My job is to provide the lady with the information she requires, her job is to either accept me as a client, or not.

I have to do my due diligence, to make sure that she is a legitimate (hahaha)  fornication consultant. If I'm not sure of that, my information isn't going to her in the first place.

As a wonderful retired fornication consultant used to say "Don't be a fool. Use your tool."

both have a job to do.   My job is to be kind and generous, and her job is to make me want to come back tomorrow.  If we both do what we're supposed to do, its always a great time.

as they say "paralysis by analysis" lol

If she is well reviewed, I don't give a fuck what she did to screen me.

I think the ladies have done a GREAT job brainwashing the guys here, They have convinced the guys that the tougher the screening, the more reputable the girl is. They have convinced the guys that any negotiating is haggling and is not only rude, but disrespectful. They have convinced the guys that refusing to jump through endless hoops is latent misogyny. They have even convinced most of the guys that not using an envelope makes them look cheap and once again "disrespectful"

Don't get me wrong, I don't blame the ladies for being smarter than the men, they are of course only looking out for their own best interests, I blame the so called men for being so clueless and spineless, and for ruining their own fun by being so fucking anal about all of this

Screening. The tougher the screening, the more lonely she's going to be, because she's not getting MY business.  Like I said a few days ago, many providers are low-volume, but not be design.

More often than not I notice a provider does not check my profile before confirming a date. Sometimes they forward the P411 email which has # of OKs and how long you’ve been a member (not history).

Some view the profile for past provider OKs but most never actually read it. I had a line in my profile that said “let me know if you took the time to read this”....I went 4 years before a nice gal I met mentioned it and she was compensated with a nice gift before I removed the line.

Beyond ensuring safety, it’s rare someone actually take time to know your preferences. :(

When someone gives me their P411 ID I can see the number of okays and how long they have been a member without clicking into your profile to view the whole thing. Also this is just one step in the verification process. I only click into someones profile if I have extra time. We can view the basics just fine.... so no need to worry.

Well, that settles that.  Thank you.

Jesus h christ.  You need extra time to view a client's profile? I'm guessing about 15 to 30 seconds to view the whole thing would be average. It's not like there is a lot of information there. Even if you aren't really interested in knowing much about him other than that he has okays and therefore probably won't stiff you with the envelope, you could just click on it and he would get an email saying you viewed it and at least he would think you understood whether DATY was "important" to him or just "icing on the cake".
