When I write a review, I try to include as much detail as possible, really trying to capture the feelings and emotions that I experienced during the encounter. I guess I'm trying to use TER's guideline of going for a "blow-by-blow tell-all". Thus, I've noticed that my reviews (only 3 so far) tend to be a tad longer than the usual 6 or 7 lines that I read on average from other reviewers.
So my question is this: what kind of review do you find the best to read ?? Long, with lots of details ?? Short and to the point ?? Something in between ?? Do you just skip it if it's too long ??
Your reviews seem to be a one paragraph description and 3 paragraphs in the juicy details section. I don't consider this long winded and think this is a perfect length for a review.
Some guys write mammoth sized reviews that read like a Harlequin Romance novel. Maybe it makes them feel better by expressing themselves but they make it so damn long that nobody reads it, almost like a self defeating act.
Stick to your current format of a few paragraphs. Keep it juicy with all the necessary details included and the un necessary details excluded.
Don't be concerned about writing long reviews. I tend to write long ones myself, that try to convey as much of the experience as possible...the mood, setting, chemistry and the sensual aspects. I think it helps other members have a better understanding and expectation of the potential experience.
Time with a Lady is more than a physical checklist. If the environment, her looks, personality, performance, etc., are all important to you, assume they are to us as well.
I prefer a longer review. I can always not read something you write that doesn’t matter to me, but I can’t add the things that matter if you left them out.
The occasional well written reviews alone are worth the membership.
My preference is for well written, tastefully detailed reviews that reveal more than "statistics" of the encounter. It's the difference between a box score and a well-written article.
Box scores are OK, but some games deserve a more eloquent write-up to convey the significance of the event/performance.
