I cannot yet post in "Providers Only" b/c I do not have enough reviews on TER, so I am posting this here.

I recently e-mailed a girl in pursuit of a reference for a potential client.  Nearly a week later, I received this:

"hey, just a heads up for u, and don't u dare tell anyone i told u this....i got out of the business because i got busted! i fouind out the cops are monitering my emails too, and they also know about you...they are onto you and watching everything you do right now.....another girl i know thats in this business told me she heard something about a butterfly dust is under investigation with some other york girls working in the area so be real careful, i hope i don't get in any troubnle sending this to you, but if i can even help 1 other girl get out of this and not get busted....they are putting me thru fuking hell! I was told they are watching you and some other york girls,.......are you the girl that lives near ***** st?

hey just be careful, i think the york detectives are really hot on you for somereason watching what we are all doing now. they know alot more than you think! your only chance is to take down you profile and website like i did, and tryu and act like u r out of it, maybe they will not bust u"

I guess I live sort of near the street that she mentioned, but it was pretty vague.  I am not sure what to do.  Should I take her advice?  Should I chalk it up to jealousy & competition?  Providing is a large part of my livelihood and I am not sure how I would get by without it.  Do I overhaul my site and change my provider identity?  Any advice you can give would be greatly appreciated.

Well, I guess there's no way to be 100% certain if this is BS or what?  The reply was pretty vague...  I can assure you that LE would not tell one busted provider about any ongoing investigation.  Does this provider have a web site?  Is IT still up?

I hope you are screening clients & not providing from your home, 2 call system and all safeguards.

Geesh! thats horrible and just want to say this is my opinion and it's always best to be aware.
LE does not tell the people they do bust who their next targets are and who is being observed.
For le to spend that much time and money on watching one girl is a little fishy too, unless your dealing with under age or drugs.
maybe she was busted and is trying to help but I seriously doubt it. sounds like she first is saying "anothr girl" told her then says she was told, its hard tobelieve that le is going to give out warning of who they are investigating.
Just see known clients and check the DL when they come.

It sounds really really far fetched to me.  If York is York PA, things can get a bit weird. I have a distant relative who provoked the York police many years ago.  He walked a tight line always on the verge of frank criminality.  He was arrested one day and it didn't stick.  He was young, stupid, and disrespectful.  He taunted the police and they lay in wait eventually getting him and sending him to prison for three years.  He was asking for it.  It sounds like you have done nothing to provoke them.  Unless it is more than providing, I can't imagine them laying in wait for you.  Also why would they tell another provider about their designs on you?  I have seen your web site I believe.  You sound lovely,  Best of luck.

Dr. Joe, thank you for the enlightening post .. and for the compliment. :) It is indeed York, PA in which I live, and this place can get awfully weird.  The only other thing I can do other than provide is 420, and I don't provide that to others, it's for home use only.  Hrm.  Thanks again for the advice :)

happened to me before!

I had this wealthy and very generous client.

He saw other girls once in a while.

I always gave references to them.

One day, I got a mail from one of the girls he saw saying the cops were investigating her, me and him.

Bullshit, she wanted to keep the bounty just for herself and eliminate the competition. I knew he spoke highly of me to others and she wanted me out of the picture.

LE do not waste time with the small fishes in the pound, always remember that!

I suspect Moisy Lips may be correct. After all, if you WERE on LE's radar, I don't imagine this woman would be in a position to know that.

While it is true that one can never be too careful, this e-mail sounds a bit far fetched to me, and a more mundane explanation, like jealousy, is probably the correct one.

My suggestion though would be to give the gentleman a wide berth, and make a note not to accept this woman for further references. While her e-mail might indeed be an attempt to scare off the competition, it is not out of the question that she herself may attempt to bring you to the attention of LE if her efforts to run you off are unsucessful. Seeing one gentleman just isn't worth that risk.

Ciara, I do use other means of screening as well. :) The provider references simply help me to get an idea of what a potential client is like during this specific sort of interaction.

Thank you so much to everyone for your advice!  I feel soooo much better now (and feel guilty for cancelling/postponing on a client I was supposed to see tonight because I got so spooked!).

I concur with the general opinion........she's an idiot.  I'm a retired LE officer, and have never heard of something that ridiculous.

Even if she was privie to infomation such as this would she risk getting herself in trouble for warning you? She says her email isn't secure and she is emailing this to you .Wouldn't she be impeding an investigation? She is either a saint or full of Shit . I am guessing  this one isn't Mother Theresa .Kendall
