I am a fan of the French manicure on ladies, but I do recall a provider who showed up with a set of highly pointed little daggers in dark Crimson that were wickedly sexy.  

There are so many other things that capture my attention, that nails is way down the list.

My natural nails  are quite long. To keep them from breaking while having fun I get acrylic overlay put on them. Sometimes, I have a French manicure, but right now I am rocking a fierce gray color. It's really just about my mood.
