We live in a very crazy time these days. Being a provider is dangerous for the girl anyway. I'm asking hobbists for feedback on how they would feel comfortable providing information and assurance to a provider they are not some crazy dangeorus nut job! A long time ago I used to be able to ask a client for his drivers license and verification of things like home address, home phone, business listing, etc., so that not only would I receive some assurance the guy wasn't the Hillside Strangler who used to call up and order escorts to target as his victims sometimes and they would understand and provide the information. However - due to the epidemic of ID theft - I can understand why a client would be reluctant to do things like provide me with a copy of his drivers license to hold when leaving for an appointment on the assurance it would be torn up once I returned home safely. On the other hand - I would like to have some assurance if I disappear I could be found! I used to be able many years ago to ask for a credit card payment as deposit so I knew I wasn't going to drive an hour across town to wind up going out ona prank call - or show up and be told "oh I don't have any money" or other such nonsense. Then I would credit back the charge once I received the cash upon arrival. Again with ID theft rampant - I would understand a refusal to offer a credit card number over the phone these days. Very few clients are calling from a home phone listed in the phone book anymore - or wanting an outcall at their office address for example. So I'm asking for feedback from hobbists - what would you understand and feel comfortable with as far as providing assurance the call is (1) legitimate so she doesn't wind up showing up at some college friend's house as a prank call, (2) knows the guys isn't jack the ripper looking for home delivery of a victim, (3) doesn't drive across town in the middle of the night to be told the guy doesn't have any money or he lied about having money at all on him. One answer would be to have a body guard go with the provider - but then clients complain about having a guy standing outside his door or sitting in the car. Clients also don't want to always pay for a hotel room either to verify an address and name. Not every client is listed with screening agencies or has reviews either - sometimes it' a client's first call for example. So I'm looking for ideas on how to be provided assurances in this modern crazy age where the client may be just as scared as the providers! Email me.
