while the Cameron Diaz look reflects something of a national fetish among Japanese males, i think you would do very well indeed! (just don't annoy the yakuza.)

another advantage of Japan is that it has the best French bakery outside France, IMO. however, Japanese canernet suvignon struggles to be vinous. it is not an entertaining struggle to observe either.

let's not discuss that _other_ place, the one i'd be cautious of, openly, shall we?

Not sure where to post this but I'm looking to gather information on the scene in Japan and in Australia. If anyone has info or sites to guide me to that would be great!

my only information on the hobby in Australia is from long ago but at that time the Territories were quite varied in their approach. the Capital Territory is decriminalized, i think. so it is much like the US, local law dominates the structure of the industry and the forms it takes.

i've never hobbied in Japan, actually. since i can converse with the populace i have found that a casual encounter with a charming clerk in a department store or patron or staff in a cafe bakery often leads to a request for my address.

BUT i am familiar with taste preferences. the Western look is quite popular. the ultra premium is for on blonde blue eyed beauties: think Cameron Diaz in her prime. you should have no problem and be quite successful unless you disturb the local yakuza somehow.
