END OF MESSAGE

I'm back at it after a year off and didn't know of this change.  Apparently you need to verify your identity when activating a prepaid credit card. I realize some don't care but I'm one of those that like to do things anonymously.  For those like me, how are you renewing your P411 account?  Taking the hit with gift cards?  Or is there a way around the verification thing?

In my experience, you don’t have to verify anything with a Visa gift card, which essentially is a prepaid card. You just need to register it on the site with a name and a billing address (not that the credit card bills you since it’s prepaid, but for when you have to enter a billing address at the site). There’s no “verification” of whatever information you register on the credit card site, you just need to remember the info for when you use the card.

Apparently there's been a change where you're required to prove your identity by providing your ssn.

The type of pre-paid card that can be used for non-USA transactions requires identification and so forth. It’s an anti-money laundering rule.

I've done this for years with no issue.

Easy, never had an issue with this method for years.

Thanks for all the replies.  Money order it is.

Just keep in mind that you cannot use a US Postal money order. Has to be a bank MO.

According to P411, postal money orders are not accepted in Canada.  Not sure why.  I went to Walmart and was in and out in 5 minutes.  They charged me a $1 fee for a 149.00 money order.

What's the reason US Postal money orders cannot be used?

Believe it or not, I actually sent cash for a Lifetime Membership several years ago.  It made me pretty nervous, but it worked and now the how to pay issue is off the table for me.

That has always worked for me for years
