It’s gotten tougher

I used to be a fairly active hobbyist but switched over to sugar babies for a number of years.  Now that Seeking Arrangements has deteriorated, I am looking into escorts again.  Rates are obviously much higher.   Women want large deposits in many cases, extensive referrals, and won’t do same day appointments except with large extra fees.  Guess I’ll keep  sorting through all the seeking fake profiles for now since it is harder to spend my money in the escort world.

Rumor on the street is that Match Group (owners of Tinder, Hinge, etc) made an offer to buy Seeking, on the condition that they get rid of all the p4p on the site before the deal can close or even be announced publicly.

Re: rumor: Match Group to acquire Seeking

Can you cite a source for this rumor?

Early this year, after the founder Brandon Wade returned to the CEO role for Seeking, he announced a series of sweeping changes that will complete the service's evolution from a Sugar Dating site to a non-p4p site aimed at women's hypergamy interests.   The prevailing speculation was this was driven by fears the US-hosted service was under pressure FOSTA/SETSA enforcement zealots.  If your rumor is true, that changes the calculus a bit.

Of course not!  It wouldn't be a rumor if I could.    ;)

.... so potential acquirers won't treat it like radioactive toxic waste.  Yep.

FOSTA/SESTA is such a red herring when it comes to Seeking.  It's been law for what, six years now?  And as everybody on TER knows, to avoid it all you have to do is move your servers to Amsterdam.... like TER did.

Trust me none of this has anything at all to do with FOSTA/SESTA.  That's not a rumor it's a fact.

women's hypergamy interests.
This is another red herring.  Hypergamy, as defined by the person who introduced the term, isn't merely "dating up".  It's "dating up *polygynously*".  There's a big difference there.

Tinder is a "hypergamy app", in a big way -- and Match Group knows this.  Pitching Seeking as a "hypergamy app" is a huge stretch, and pretty obviously intended to make Seeking look like a good stablemate for Tinder.

Edit: found a better diagram image.

I can't seem to get them to take my money.

They don't accept Amex (wtf? for a site that caters to wealthy men?  really?) and when I tried my Chase debit card, Chase rejected the attempt and sent me a fraud alert email.  I only have three cards, and two are Amex.  I tried prepaid cards, none of them work.  After two rejected payment attempts they lock your account.

I've never seen a company so incompetent at accepting money from their customers.

It’s not secrets it’s the credit cards. They have in their card agreements they won’t allow their cards to be used for any type of illegal services. This is why crypto became a thing. We as ladies have struggled with this for years as we pay for ads. Some sites allow one credit type Mastercard I think it is and then a crypto option because the credit card can revoke the sites privileges at anytime when they think the card agreement has been violated. This is why you see sites like Er@$ not allowing websites for ladies anymore because that constitutes selling prostitution which is against card agreements because it is illegal. You will also see this in dispensaries and even casinos where you can’t use certain cards because they don’t allow that because it’s illegal federally still. So yes it’s a pain.

I don’t take deposits and never have. There are ladies out there like myself you just have to find them.  Not sure your range but keep in mind everything has gone up. So if your idea of I’ll pay for your rent in order to get an arrangement keep in mind rent in many places is $2-3k a month or more now. So asking a lady to be exclusive for you and wanting to pay her $1000 for month is not going to exactly get you far. Even if you do find a newbie and pay a low amount for a bit they eventually figure out they can get much more and will move on from you once they meet someone paying more. Then you are back to square one and searching again. So keeping open communication and paying decent will keep a lady around just like any other employee. Now not saying that life won’t change and they move on etc but the main reason for moving on is usually more money as in any business.

You can take Sesta/Fosta for that garbage. Any site that *might* have someone on it that is being trafficked the advertising platform can be held liable. I have even tried with pre paid gift cards and they also have been rejected. So no, it is not the website that does not want to take your money, the credit card companies (or gift card as well!) do not want to be liable. Bitcoin or another crypto currency is really the only way around it at this point.

I personally don’t charge extra for same day appointments, I simply accommodate if I can if not I decline.
As far as SA I’ve found that most men on there want to negotiate, want to pay nothing and get everything. Some have reputation of being blacklisted by several providers thus being on seeking hoping to find a desperate girl.
Not saying is your case ( just my experience and what I’ve heard from most girls), many just waste time trying to find a real girl when with a professional you know what you’re going to get.
Deposits are not bad if you are dealing with a reputable provider.
