I disagree! A confident trustworthy woman doesn't need to lie about her age. I am 55 years old. I am not here for the guys who want cheerleader college girls. I am not going to paint all women with a such a broad brush but for myself, I had to gain confidence before I was comfortable saying my real age. For me it was the period between 45 and 49 that were the hardest to fess up to. Then I realized how silly it is to think a guy is going to like me better thinking I am 43 than 46. It makes no sense. I also saw ladies who were in their 40s claiming to be in their 30s and I thought I am going to bust through this delusion and deceit. They look ridiculous saying they are younger. So when I turned 49, I immediately started saying I was 50. And guess what? Nothing bad happened. I didn't lose any business. In fact I started getting so many compliments that I looked AMAZING for 50! It also opened up an additional market for me of guys who prefer over 50 women. And I don't just see old guys either. Half of my clients are younger than me. Many are half my age. When I tell them, "You realize I am old enough to be your mother." They reply with, "That's exactly why I booked you."
I digress. I do think that it has a lot to do with thinking that you are not marketable after a certain age. Women have believed the myth that they have an expiration date, and are not confident to believe in themselves otherwise. I boldly go around now telling everyone my age. I want to help other women realize that they can be honest with themselves and not care what mongers think. Success can be yours at any age. If there are a few guys who say their cut off age is 45, well replace them with guys who look for women in their 50s, or men who are confident enough to not care about how old you are, but care only about how amazing you make them feel when they are with you. If you are a good provider there is no shortage of men who will love you.
PS. I have been a provider for around 20 years, and each year, I make more money than I did the year before. My 35 year old self was so afraid of losing her youth and thought she only had a few years to earn as much as she could before no one would want her 50+ year old self. I look back and laugh now. Makes sense really. Woman age faster than men physically. The average 21 year old college girl looks like a fully developed woman, whereas the average 21 year old guy in college still looks like a developing teen. Sucks being a young guy and seeing all your female peers gravitating towards older guys, but the pendulum starts to swing our way around age 30, when the average guy looks like a man, and the average woman starts to show signs of aging, i.e - stretch marks, crows feet, boobs begin sagging, etc, etc.

What I just wrote is a generalization. Of course humans have evolved a higher level of conscious and are not entirely beholden to our animal roots. That's why age doesn't matter to many men. That's why modern men can find a women's personality just as attractive as her physical features. In other words, this isn't a binary: either culture shapes our sexual preferences or evolution does. That's the wrong way to look at it. Culture and evolution are not mutually exclusive. As with most things in life, it's a matter of degree -- to some degree, our DNA plays a role in our sexual behavior. The degree may be small, and it surely varies from man to man, but it is real.

I agree with Pelican's reply regarding evolution and culture shaping the human male's sexual preferences. I personally find 20 year olds to be hot erotically but I prefer socializing with women more my age (60 something.)
