I dont believe in "moves" - nothing works for everyone..... my talent seems to be....

establishing comfortable rapport so that the provider is relaxed with me

and

having learned through experience to read her responses so that I usually can figure out

No, not the only one. Someone very near and dear to me abhors the show....

as she finds the characters utterly reprehensible.

But I try to explain to her that that is exactly the point of the show. By taking extreme illustrations of the human failings in all of us, the show makes us more conscious of these failings in ourselves.

It's not unlike how people related to the bigoted Archie Bunker in All in the Family, just updated a bit (for the 90s anyways), and funnier. The character of Homer Simpson is not unlike Archie as well.

But hey, it's a matter of taste and there's no arguing taste.
