The site was busted barely more than a week ago. A link to the previous discussion here is below. But now there are signs that LE may be using info from the site to sting mongers. One reports he "had made some email inquiries" in the past and then "got an email from the link of a cityxguide provider,in response to an email i sent about 5 months ago. It supposedly came through the cityxguide site. All it said was hi,how are you. Obviously I did not respond,but it made me wonder if the authorities were trying to sting us." Forewarned is forearmed.
Given the "Bwahahahahahahaha," it seems to be some kind of feeble attempt at a joke, but if you have to laugh at your own joke - it isn't funny.
And as usual, he'll have to explain what the "joke'' is. But again, if you have to explain what the joke is - it isn't funny.
inicky did a public service by informing us (and TER) of the CityXGuide situation. If you click their link in a TER profile, you'll get a warning that the website is not private. This is a serious situation which could have serious ramifications for hobbyists who don't know the feds shut down the website. It could also affect TER if they don't take the links out of TER profiles. Yet all CDL can think of is to try and somehow turn it into a joke...and he failed miserably at that.
It was more of an insult than a joke, but still VERY easy to understand.
I do agree that the OP is correct about removing all CityXGuide links the same as they did BP, BP as in Back Page, not as the first part of BPOS (I certainly hope you don't need that explained to you too), but CDL wasn't talking to the OP, he was talking to you, and while it wasn't worth a LOL, it was worth a chuckle at your expense.
He's just being obtuse to make it sound like he DOES have regulars. If he did have any, he would not have had to scam Carla out of a whitelisting 4 years AFTER he actually saw her.
Okay, so maybe I overdid it. So it wasn't worth an LOL to you, but it was at least a Bwahaha to me. Humor at other people's expense is often where you find it, and may not be equally funny to everyone. He didn't find it funny at all. Most people as tightly wound as he is don't find it funny when they are the butt of the humor.
It may be an obvious inference anyone could make but BPS was the first one to actually say it. For someone who nit-picks everyone's posts and jumps on people for the slightest error you sure are sloppy.
to you until now because there was low-hanging fruit that got in the way, I, for one, appreciate the heads up on your OP. Chances are low that it would have happened in the market where I spend most of my hobby dollars, but I will pass it along to some of my friends that see more Indies than I do..
