OK, let me get this out of the way first. Before I knew anything about TER and verification sites such as RS2K, P411, and Datecheck, I thought my only sure way to pay for sex with a beautiful woman and avoid LE, B&S etc. was at one of the Nevada brothels, and so I made a visit to one at the beginning of my hobbying journey. Well, as I'm sure most of us know, these places tend to be MUCH more expensive than seing a local provider. I would even say they are a rip off, but that's just me. Ultimately, I'm the one who is responsible for being ripped off, because I was too stupid and naive to do some actual research.
So, on to my main question. Knowing that they are significantly more expensive than seeing a local provider along with the many great local providers and verification services available, should any hobbyist view Nevada brothels as a legitimate option? Personally, I say no, for the reasons I've talked about above, but that's just me. What does everyone else think?

The primary benefit is they are fully legal. If you are totally risk-adverse it might be a good way to try things out with no risk - though as you note a very expensive way to try things out.
I have never tried to use them myself, finding the variety of escorts to be fantastic and the pictures of many women at the brothels only looking so-so to me.
The exception I would probably make would be the upcoming Alien Cathouse, at least for a visit as it seems like it would be a pretty unique experience...

Also, under the state law of Nevada, it is mandatory for all brothels to use condoms on all sexual services including a blowjob. You'll be lucky you even get a LFK with these girls, unless you're paying them like hundreds of thousands of dollars and are repeats. Forget about DATY, it doesn't exist there.
I've been to some of those ranches a few times in the past, did it for the experience. Total waste of money. You'll get more action from a $75 BackPage provider than that place.

mrfisher, I'm totally not surprised by your friend's story. When I was there, I got the impression that the management (the madam, the brothel owner etc.), along with many of the providers, were totally ruthless and mean spirited. The girls treat each other like shit, and they are under extreme pressure to charge as much as possible for as little time as possible, for reasons including the fact that they only keep half of what the client pays, and the brothel management wants to make as much money as possible. My observation was confirmed by a provider who used to work at one of these places.
The one time I was there, as much as I got ripped off, the provider who I saw STILL tried to rip me off another $100. Can you believe that?!?!?! Here's what happened. I put a $100 deposit down to secure my appointment, with the promise that when I actually arrive, the actual cost will be minus the $100. Well, my stupid ass, when I arrived, paid for it, but forgot about the deposit (and so did they. How convenient). Well, anyway, over dinner, I remembered that I put down a $100 deposit, which they didn't take off of my bill. I mentioned this to the provider and she said, "oh, we'll just put it down as a tip." Well, I may be stupid, but I'm not stupid enough to let them walk all over me, so when we got back to the ranch, I let management know, and they refunded my credit card for the $100. My experience there was already shitty, but the provider there who tried to rip me off even more money left a really bad taste in my mouth. A few months later, this provider had a really bad falling out with the ranch management and was asked to leave. My experience along with what I've witnessed and heard off the record contributes to my view that a lot of the people involved in the Nevada brothel scene are really scummy people who will resort to the most unethical of practices to make a buck. I'm sure there are a few decent people involved in the brothel scene, and if you're reading this and are offended, I'm sorry, but multiple pieces of evidence along with my own experience have formed my view, and it sounds like many others here have similar sentiments.

they actually get less than half. They must pay for the "rent" of the towels and sheets, they pay for the driver to take them to town for a weekly trip (including medical visit, they pay the doctor), they pay for every little tiny, itsy bitsy detail. Which means their "take home" is less than half.
I've played on both sides of the fence over the years and have mixed opinions on the NV brothels ...some good, some bad. I've been to all of the large brothels in both northern and southern NV (with
the exception of the new Love Ranch-South in Crystal, NV) and a few of the smaller brothels (e.g. ShadyLady Ranch and Inez where both of these brothels have posted prices). Although today, I do prefer the indie scene both here and in Canada due the rising costs at the NV brothels. My last visit to a NV brothel was back in 2008 (Chicken Ranch and Sheri's Ranch), but I didn't party with anyone ...LOL. I had more fun playing with my favorite indie in Vegas.
First of all, I got started in the hobby ca. 2000 when I made my first visit to the Chicken Ranch in Pahrump, NV. Unlike many brothel newbies, I did my reseach before I headed to Las Vegas in 2000, so I was armed with enough information to know how the brothel system worked. I actually had a good experience with the lady that I chose at the Chicken Ranch and she did not try to rip me off on cost, time, or activites.
Yeah, being legal and safe (i.e. ladies are tested regularly for HIV/Stds) are the 2 main reasons for anyone to visit the NV brothels on a regular basis. The law requries condoms for all sex acts and those infamous dental dams for DATY. However, I've had no problems finding brothel ladies who provide LFK/DFK, unprotected DATY, and occasionally some who give BBBJs. It just take more research in order to find them.
Anyways, whether it's visiting the NV brothels or seeing escorts/indies for the first time, one always need to do their research ahead of time or you'll increase your chances of getting ripped off in either venue. I still have friends who visit the brothels, so I'm kept updated with the latest news and continue to hear about newbies getting quoted $1000-3000/hour. They often pay sticker price without even negotiating for a low price, since they didn't do their homework. Needless to say, I'm sure they all feel ripped off when they find out they could have partied with the lady for much less.
I do agree that the NV brothels are high priced and activities cannot compare to those you can get from a well reviewed indie, but unfortunately this is the only "legal" system we have in the USA. It's worth visiting a NV brothel (preferably one of the larger houses) at least once, just to see how the legal system works or if it happens to be on your bucket list ...BUT be sure to do your homework ahead of time.
