I had an appointment with a man in Tampa at a top hotel on Saturday evening.
I had his full name, mobile # and two verified references from providers. Upon arrival I checked his ID.
The room was brightly lit, he did not smile or make small talk, when I asked for something to drink he gave me water. I've never felt so awkward. He just sort of stared at me. He was nicely dressed in business attire, mid-forties.
As I sat on the bed I looked around (as I always do) and noticed a big black bag up very high on a tall entertainment center. I asked him what it was; he feigned innocence. I asked if it was a camera, finally he said that it was indeed a camera.
I left. I felt very upset. I told him the first thing that came into my mind, "You can't do that to people without their consent."
I have emailed MANY of the Tampa ladies privately with his name and number and have submitted a post similar to this one on the Vegas, Carolinas, Florida and Atlanta (areas he mentioned) boards asking the ladies to PM me if they'd like his information.
Ladies, always look around hotel rooms very carefully, make sure that the lights are very dim and don't go to private residences unless you do not mind being recorded or if you explicitly trust the gentleman.
And guys, don't EVER record someone without their consent. It is rude and as Anneke noted on my Florida post, it's criminal. Also, this man has just limited his pool of available ladies.
All it takes is one jerk to poison the well. Thanks for alerting the other ladies and I hope you can put it behind you.
Lucky you spotted the camera shortly after you arrived. Many many moons ago, when I was an agency girl, I noticed a camcorder hidden in the closet 3 hours into an over nighter appointment! Talk about being livid….
To all providers - please do not take this the wrong way! I for one, like to photograph a session, or so I thought.... ! I am an amature photographer (outside of the hobby, and actually started with the dark room and 35 mm film). Why do I say "or so I thought?" well, not because of the ladies - but because of the way I think that I look on film... so would I ever share those films... no! I do not even look at them - as they are painful for me to look at... so I no longer seek that! It took a little to get there though - (and by the way - the times that I did film... the lady was fully aware of the activity, consented to it, was paid extra for it and even helped me set up and made suggestions to help the process...)
To bring this all home, when this dude scheduled the session - he should have asked about filming then and there. If you said no, that should have been that period. if he said yes, you could lay down some rules - and if they were violated, then you could terminate the session... I guess that I will never understand some guys' position that whatever they wish to do - is ok, simply because they paid.... it isn't.
For one particular provider, who I knew and who wished to have another career that in no way could she have permitted such activity. In fact, she copyrighted EVERYTHING - every picture, every word and even her pseudonym. When she decided to pursue the other career, she disappeared - no pictures, the name is gone for all practical purposes... it is as if she never existed.... so, I can appreciate why some do not wish to participate in filming - of any sort...
There are plenty of providers who will permit filming, but you are correct - if you do this, without consent, depending on the state and municipality and the format - it could be illegal.... so, please be respectful of a providers rights...
...when I informed him that there are providers who allow recordings he explained that he wanted to record someone who was unaware of the camera. He just forgot about that one tiny little thing called consent.
What is really disturbing about his treatment of you, is the thought that it is ok to treat a provider that way, which upsets me, because it makes it that much more difficult to see quality ladies... enough of this - and the quality ladies will just disappear - they can all be off doing something else....
if he wants to record someone who is unaware I suggest that he try this with a civie... hee hee. There would be no mercy in the legal system for him. I look at this hobby very simply... it is the end of a very good date, and the lady has invited you back to her place for a nightcap.... and well, things just went their natural way.... and we all had fun...
This attitude displayed by this jerk... would not fit in that scenario... and I look at this hobby this way, IF I were really uninhibited, I would do the things with civies that I do with providers, but I do NOTHING with providers without their consent. Even something as simple as kissing - if the lady says no, I may try to talk her out of it, but at the end of the conversation - that is it - she calls the shots....
What this doofus should realize is simple, if he can film you - guess what - you can film him.... and once that bridge of trust is breached, we are all doomed.... doomed I say!
Snuff films do still exist out there.. and although this incident might not have been the case, it still creeps me out when I hear these kind of stories. I am glad you are ok and left when you did!
I am so worried about things like this happenning. It may have already happenned and I didnt even know. I had a few outcalls on LI and twice I had this bad feeling in my stomach. I wish I had trusted my instincts and just left but I didnt. Both times I felt I was being watched. You just never know these days. I am glad you got out of there right away. Every time I'd see my date there the staff always seemed to find a reason to hover around the hallway just outside the room. We ended up putting towels down at the door threshold and it's a good thing or else I'd be an unwitting internet porn star right now.
Curiously I now find that when traveling on business I scan the lobbys looking to see if there are guys on cell phones headed for the elevator bank! lol!!!
I have seen tiny wireless cameras for sale at Costco, Walmart, even Home Depot. Between that and cellphones with cameras, soon it will be impossible for any of us to have any privacy anywhere. I for one do not want to see myself and a lady on tv, I prefer to see it in my naughty little mind, as I remember it...I can also make myself more studly that way. Plus those tapes and dvds have a way of getting onto the internet or the SO's player.
They make cameras a LOT smaller than big black bags

I would do plenty of research before I spent a dime.
...to a meeting. Instead I take a small sketch pad so I can document the entire session with a series of stick-figure drawings.
I've noticed that I'm much sexier when rendered as as stick figure. I think it's the stick arms, really. Much more manly than my real arms.

P.S. As far as my being beautiful goes, don't let that rendering fool you. I used a LOT of "artistic license" to make myself appear more attractive than I actually am in person.
