In the porn world women (and men) shave because the porn-watching public want to see "everything." By shorning the pubic locks, they allow better better camera shots of the action. It has nohting to do with fetishes.

Of the women I have dated, only one or two have shaved. It is becoming more common for women, and I would guess a majority of younger ones do (only a guess), but in the age group I date (35/up), most don't.

It appears to be a result of the generation gap. Go back 20+ years, and you rarely if at all saw a shaved woman. Playboy, Penthouse, porn movies; women had full muffs. It's been within the last 8-10 years that the muff has generally disappeared. I personally don't like the shaved look. The muff is part of what makes a woman a woman.
