I have been told by ladies, that have been around for a few years that certain times of the year are busier than others.  I was wondering if the gents could tell if there are times of the year that one tends to play more or not and some reasonings?

almost never in winter, which is counter to basic intuition (what with being cooped up cuz of the harsh weather and all)  the reason too is illogical, it's because i suffer from S.A.D. and rather stay holed up at home than enjoy myself! -- could you be any more neurotic you may ask, to which i'd say anyone who suffers from depression would understand :(

now if you were to ask what time of day, the answer would be never after 8pm. the reason being that's how you can avoid sloppy seconds! ;)

Interesting.

I've given it thought and really don't know the answer with certainty...probably "spring and summer," when the whole world seems more alive.  Autumn and winter are kinda "downers" for me.

I'd be curious to know what you've heard and hope you'll share it.

Hell, I am horny all the time.  Seasons don't change that.  Money doesn't change with the seasons either....I'm really enjoying life right now!

"anyone who suffers from depression would understand :("

You got that right.  Lucky for me there's SSUIs. (That's Selective Seratonin Uptake Inhibitors for the uninitiated).

It depends more on the current state of my finances than anything else.

As for seasons, living in Phoenix it's play time all year.  I know many girls are busier in the winter season when we have a lot of conventions, golf matches and especially during Spring Training Season when there is a baseball game here almost every day.  As for me I'm self employed and I beleive in rewarding myself when something goes right.  A great incentive to make things happen.

I found myself alone more.  It's darker longer (going more to mood than ambient lighting).  And I tend to travel more than in the spring and summer, since it's less likely my contacts will be on vacarion in the cooler months.

Probably more during the winter.

I hobby when I am traveling on business, and I mostly travel in the north. On trips during the summer I'll go out for a run or play golf after work. On trips during the winter, I have a lot more free time.

This is also somewhat counter to intuition, as there is so much more visual stimulation walking around the airports during the summer.

It would be interesting to know if the ladies in the north experience a lull in the summer.

a serotonin UPTAKE inhibitor would be my ATF dumping me!  LOL

Pharmacodynamics

SSRIs specifically inhibit central nervous system neuronal re-uptake of serotonin, thus increasing the concentration of the serotonin at the synapse and enhancing of serotonergic neuronal transmission. A deficiency of serotonin is thought to play a major role in depression, therefore increasing the availability of serotonin would be expected to improve the clinical signs of depression. SSRIs have no direct effect on the re-uptake noradrenaline, dopamine or GABA. Unlike tricyclic antidepressants, they have no significant affinity for alpha1 adrenergic, H1-histamine, and muscarinic receptors. The selectivity of SSRIs may account for the lower incidence of some adverse effects such as sedation, orthostatic hypotension, and anticholinergic effects.

Well, obviously it slows at Christmas time, but have been surprised that gents will visit right up to the yule day.  January is slower and assumed that it is from emptying the pockets from the holiday and time is needed to recoup.  February it picks up and once the warm weather hits it is busy.  April has two slow weeks as everyone rushes to make tax deadline and then it is busy again.  June has some slow time, it is assumed from the kids getting out of school and vacations, but then it picks up again.  Around the end of August and beginning of September it slows again and it is assumed because the kids are going back to school and the rest of the year is steady, but not as busy as the summer months.

Economy has affect, as does events.  9/11 definitely was a time in which everything practically stopped (so I hear, before my time), but was surprised that the war this past March didn't have too much of an affect.  Not as busy as usual, more like the winter months.

It probably varies around the country as it does from gent to gent and thought it would be interesting to hear what times and reasonings gents have for times of the year they play more or not.
