If rates are a little more than they can afford why do they complain instead of just skipping over that lady and find one in their price range?

Just to name a few:

1. Because we always want what we cannot afford.

2. Because we're all basically idiots with no sense of dignity when you bring sex (or the possibility there of) into the picture.

3. Because some guys just don't feel right unless they think they have gotten some type of "bargain".

4. Because it's easier to rant on the boards that a lady's rate is to high than to come to terms with the fact that her value of herself is more then ours.

The list goes on...

Yeah, yeah, I know... Sweeping generalizations. But truthful ones in alot of cases.

A few random thoughts...

Frustration at the overall expense of this hobby in which we partake...perhaps coupled with guilt over the volume of money required if it's more than one should be spending...

Another source of frustration could be what is required to find everything you want in a provider...finding out that it's only available in the caviar and champagne category, and the alternatives pale in comparison...

My general take is, though, that if you're complaining in this arena, you probably can't afford what you're doing, which means some self-examination of habits may be in order...

That's my $1.43...

it seems to be almost a given that the ones I find the hottest and most desirable are also the most expensive.  Naturally, we'd all like the other lady's price, for a top quality provider.

The reason I am dismayed at price increases for top-level SPs is that the less experienced, or lesser quality ladies follow their lead.  A rising tide lifts all boats. Note well I am not saying or making judgment that top talent should not receive more.  I am merely expressing personal angst.

The more recent development that totally discourages me is the move to 2-hr, or more, minimums.  For what?  The act is the act.  If you offer such an amazing and intimate service, I will be moved to want more and more.  But I've got to be honest.  I have had some top-notch ladies in my time, but I have yet to meet one with whom I would want to spend $$$$ simply to chat and cuddle for an hour or so (the time not engaged in actual sex).  To those  who enjoy these extended visits: God bless you.  Good for you.

I am enough of a gentleman to not complain to a given lady.  It is rude, not to mention counterproductive, to whine about the cost of things/services to those offering such.  If I can't afford (or choose to not afford) an experience, that is MY problem, not hers.

However, as in all business transactions, I may offer a smaller recompense.  Just as I respect you setting rates, please respect my  boundary/price points.  If you won't sell, so be it.  But do not attack me.  Instead, why not accept the compliment that I think enough or your product to at least offer to buy?  This is assuming, of course, that I approach you respectfully/professionally.  OK?

For all the ladies who absolutely insist that they maintain rate integrity - they never, ever, ever, ever, reduce the donation minimum listed on their site - get over it.  This is the real world.  If a compelling need arises (car repair, hospital bill, whatever) you'll do what you have to to make a buck.

Having moved to L.A. from the ATL area, I have been subject to a lot of "sticker shock".  Prices for nearly everything here are outrageous.  The hobby is no different.

But in discussing this topic with some veteran hobbyists out here, they tell of HUGE rate increases in the past year or two.  These are not connected to the economic realities here. So ladies, please have a little understanding for us guys who are trying to make it through the day, just as you do.  I sincerely wish all of you honorable gals the very best.  I hope you wish the same for me.

My personal thoughts about this issue would lean more towards the financial stability of one person. If he/she is use to paying $300-500 rates then he/she would except everyone to charge just about the same disregarding the providers intelligence, performance or even companionship that they provide.

Recently I've been spending $1500 or $2000 for 2 hours on this one provider and so far she is worth every single penny. So please, if you cannot afford the advertise rate, do not bargain or complain because you’ll just embarrass yourself.

Kind Regards,
Max Lu

I've never tried to haggle or manipulate a lady into a discount, and it's my policy anyway to never take personal discounts, but the sad truth is, I want who I want when I want them.

The fact is though, almost all the ladies I've seen are out of myprice range.  I'm working class, and my income level, I bet is at the bottom fifth for guys posting here.  I don't care!

We, as a group, want what we want at what we want to pay.

Obviously, we are not all like that, but, a great many are.

I, for one, would never consider "haggling". I know the cost upfront and if I can't afford it, I don't make the connection.

The bottom line is this...
if you don't like or can't afford the cost, pass the lady by and move on.
Don't be a jerk and make an fool out of yourself by attempting to "negotiate".

Just my opinion...

I care because my rates are above average BUT at the same time this is not my career it is my second job. I also am in the top 3 providers in my area so no one where I live complains. But when I do visit other cities (for my main job) I do post that I will be there with limited time. Then guys complain that my rates are too high. So I decided to look at the reviews they have written and guess what they are paying $175 on average.

So my point is that if you can NOT afford my rate move on.

That is why I am interested.

the answers. You just feel like ranting.

My guess is some guys are cheap and to them there's no harm in asking. I've never tried and never will try to negotiate providers' fees. They are what they are. Simple economics, supply and demand. I understand this since I never let my clients negotiate my fees either because I provide quality service for the fees I charge. Sometimes I have the same urge to rant like you're doing now.

Then you have to pay that high price as well

Why are all the good houses priced over 200,000?
The builders of homes feel as if the extra time and energy they put into craftmenship and quality living should  be compensated - they are worth more because they do more. -

Why are all the good vehicles priced over 40,000
The manafacturers  and workers of these vehicles feel their time is worth more while putting together a top notch, luxury vehicle.

Why are all the great gals priced over YOUR amount? (generally speaking )  They feel their time is worth that. Apparently it is.. They are still in business and live very lavish lifestyles.

AH Ciara, you really are lucky to be from Buffalo where you can get a decent house for 200k. Here on Long Island, decent homes start at 400k and that doesn't buy very much. But then again, what day is summer up there this year? LOL I went to school for 4 years up at Buffalo State and still have fond memories of almost freezing to death each winter! The cost of living here is way too high and our ladies must also charge accordingly. Oh well. Maybe I'll retire upstate.

As long as we're looking at numbers...

A work year is about 2000 hours @ 40 hours / week

Someone making $100,000 in this 2000 hour year (a gross simplification since at that level, you're probably working more than 40 hours) is making about $50/hour.

So for an hour of a $400 provider's time, that guy has to work a full day.

This, perhaps, causes some resentment in individuals who
a) don't earn that $50/hour and have to work a couple of days for that session
b) don't accept that the laws of supply and demand apply to this 'industry' just like any other.

I haven't haggled before, but obviously the thought has crossed my mind. I've paid varying levels over time, but I just keep it to what I find reasonable.  And I always ask myself what I would buy instead. And sometimes I do go buy something instead.  I often wonder how the conversation would go, though, if I were to call a provider whose price I didn't know ahead of time who turned out to be more than I was willing to spend.

For Confused, I'd say take to heart trojan69's comments.  Be nice and understand the business element.  And you never know when you might find yourself wishing the phone would ring and produce $300 rather than $400.

hee hee, read this stuff. I lived on longi land before moving to planet bizzaro (about the time of Joey Butt a fuko - yet another great hobbiest!) - and bought a 4-bedroom house for $135K.  Lost job, sold house - got only $140K  - lost money, but was happy to get buyer, any buyer for any price.....

time marches on.  today, same house, a tad more used, goes for over $250!!!  and still the J.O.B. market on longi Land.... is very sad.

But the absolute BEST ever session I have had was a $$1/2 session that I had in DC.  Wonderful provider, I am older but she coaxed a performance out of me that was nothing short of academy award winning.   Her price is still the same, her reviews still top the charts, and from what I gather she is still doing business well.

Then, a local (who is with a service) in my home town is also "up there" at $$$ for the past 2-3 years.  Wonderful service from a lady who I would love to know personally, but who keeps her distance...  she is definately one of a kind and the sex is absolutely fantastic... she is an institution.

Then there is another local indy who is also "up there" has a select clientele and is selective with that group.  An appointment with her is about as much like a gfe as one can get without a committment to shop for a ring....

So, if you are patient in this hobby, and look for the rare gems, they are there, it is like panning for gold.... you have to sift through the dirt, to get the gems!

What does this mean to a provider, ALL of the above have cultivated a steady clientel, men that see them time and again.  Both parties know what to expect, and there are no surprises.  The rates remain constant for the simple reason that all participating parties wish the situation to remain and altering the price - alters the equation.  Charge a reasonable price, establish a steady income get a reputation and then see where ya go from there.

luck to ya.

Higher for Champagne or a box wine?

There are so many variables already in the mix.  What am I supposed to be getting for the extra price.  And do I really get it?  I MAY be able to see the better appearance factor, but performance?

If I pay $$$$$, should the shower when I get there really come out of my hour?

Does the lady meet me at her door dressed provocatively, hand me a beverage, soothe my nerves, and lap dance me as we get to know each other before moving on to the bedroom?

Or does she feed her cat in the kitchen for 7 minutes, sit just out of reach from me,  talk for a length of time that she determines, before moving to the bedroom and running out the clock providing as little as possible.

It is a big gamble.  Even with good reviews, YMMV.  There is just soooo MUCH uncertainty, at a new higher price.

We don't really know EXACTLY what we are getting until after we got it.

charge the same.  $250 for a young hottie with no reviews is insane.
However if the market will bear it then we guys are the ones who are insane.
As my father used to say, "if people will leave it on the shelf the price will come down."

But dear, I have 2 BMWs and a house worth WELL over $200k.  I have never paid a provider less than your stated rates.  Affordability is not the only issue.  I still want to get it all, and pay for only some.  It's just human nature.  We all like to think that we bought something at it's best price.

On the other hand, I never hold a provider's rates against her.  If they are over my limit, I move on.  But if I'm narrowing the decision down between 2 ladies, the rate is one of the deciding factors.
