I have travelled to those and other East Coast cities. I put up my ads at least a week in advanced and I get guys who want to book ahead of time but some of them cancel due to business or other reasons. Don't sweat it. You will get many calls while you are there. Some of the cities I go to keep me very busy! The only time I didn't do well was when I went to NY right when we started the war. The war started when I was on the plane from LA to NY. I didn't hear about it until I landed and the taxi driver told me. NY was slow that week because of the war and amthrax. The next week I went to DC and did well. The whole key to traveling is to relax... enjoy the clients... enjoy the sites and some of the things that the city offers.... you won't have too much time to site see but do something that you will enjoy. But the key is to relax and have a good time while you are there.

PS: I love Philly... they always treat me very well and I found an oyster bar that I can't wait to go back to on my next visit!
This seems to be rather common now and it bothers me.
Let's get specific so we understand. Get many emails from say, NY and Boston, gents saying, I can't wait to see you when you come to town, please put me on the list and let me know when you are coming...your rates are fine. That won't be an issue. I'd like a 2 hour session.
Ok, great. I then send everyone from NY and Boston an email telling them when I am coming. 89% don't respond. 11% say they don't have any money.
3x I did this booking flights and hotels and lost over $1200 in plane tix.
Why are these guys emailing me if they are not serious? How do traveling girls survive?
You've got a girl with a blurred face photo with an ad on Eros who is in Boston. What did she do front all the money herself for tix, hotels, meals etc with no definites?
This isn't 9/11. This has always been this way.

Why not pre-announce your trip. Set up appointments, then book your tickets.. That way is the response is too light, you can cancel the trip.
As to why they ask to be put on the list, and then back out. No idea. If I asked to be put on a list it would be because I intended to see you.
Maybe with some people, it isnt a measure of serious intentions and more of a 'give me a yell if you are in town and we'll see'.
I have done that this time and all silent. Wants, needs, affords, in conflict, I guess.
One Scenario:
Some providers that I know pre-announce their intentions on visiting a particular City; those that answered their Posts are asked to provide a minimal deposit ($50.00 +/-) via Pay Pal or other secured methods to insure a pre-booking and that they are serious prospects.
Second Scenario:
Some travel by referrals, (i.e., one guy is interested and get some others of his cyber buddies and friends to pitch in). Some times the hobbyists cover her expenses, other times the provider does.
Third Scenario:
Some provider’s work thru a local Agency that would sponsor their stay and leave them do all the Marketing and get a 20% added to their regular fee to cover the traveling expenses as I have been told. Usually the Agency has an In call place for those traveling providers.
Fourth Scenario:
Some ladies post about their intensions, receive a relative amount of responses, she e-mails them back, experience what you have (Excuses/No Longer Interested) and postpones trip.
Fifth Scenario:
Some ladies announce their visit, book a plane and lodging, go there, sit and wait for an e-mail and/or call, in the mean time, they announce their arrival and start marketing themselves locally but end up loosing most of the time.
Worse game, they are pulling one on you just for the sake and fun.

Maybe she had a couple of definites, maybe not.
If it's the brunette I saw on eros-boston, then she appears to be working with an agency. And probably figures that the agency will fill her schedule once she arrives, for better or worse.
Others may just have one or two confirmed, and assume they'll fill the rest of their schedules with "walk ins."
Most do not insist on the level of advance planning and verification that you do. Obviously that exposes them to risk from LE, but also exposes them to the opportunity of making money off guys who would not be able to see you.
I've seen several "traveling" girls over the years, and pretty much all of them fit into one of a two categories:
* Semi professionals who wanted to make some extra money, but didn't want to do it close to home for fear of being recognized and/or embarrassed. So they'd take a vacation every now and then and go home to their real lives with an extra bunch of cash.
* Wanted to travel for a while, so took the profession on the road, not necessarily expecting to really make a whole lot more when traveling, but just wanted to travel and live somewhere else for a month or so.
* Came from a pretty small city, where the opportunity was limited. By traveling to a bigger city (especially Vegas during major shows) she could make more in a week than she could at home in a month or more. Obviously this would not apply to a provider who is already based in a big city.
It also appears that there are many travelling ROBs, who are just looking for new suckers to exploit.

I got stuck sitting in a hotel room for a provider who was coming in from out of town to see me. We had good email communication, and I even got a confirmation request from her the night before she was scheduled to arrive. Some things you just have to live with...
Re: advance planning and verification
I am sorry to read this happen to you, but so glad that you posted this message. Clients email/im me all the time to tour their city and I've posted twice to tour but cancel my self because of reading some info on the board about no show.
I figured my expense about the same as your and decided I do enough business here in Virginia that I do not need to tour to get stood up and not cover my trip.
The reponse that the pro's sent in was the best response you could get, I just wished you posted before the trip.
