I agree with your premise. It is really not fair where medical research funds are spent.
Alzheimers is becoming so prevalent in our elderly, and not so elderly, that it's almost an epidemic. There are many different variations of dementia that can be traced in some form to Alzheimers.
There is more money being spent on breast implants and Viagra than on Alzheimer's research.
This means that by 2020, there should be a large elderly population with perky boobs and huge erections and absolutely no recollection of what to do with them.

spend some quality time. Have some lunch or dinner. Perhaps have a drink ot two, do some dancing, maybe even a little Kareoke(sp). How bout a harbor cruise, then get a suite overlooking the bay, I'll take a little blue pill and, and , and----Oh shit, are you the Sedona from San Diego. Been there Done that--I think I'll donate to Alzheimers Reasearch.
Sedona, Your assumption is that Alzheimers will kick in for all. I hope to be still doing this in 2020 and be able to remember the experiences as well. LOL
