It is still an open question whether Arnold will be up to the task and whether my follow Californians will benefit from this election result.  In any case, this should act as a wake up call for those tax and spend politicians, be they Republicans or Democrats.

That open question is easily answered.

Arnold has no political experience, no real fiscal experience, how hard is it to be a business man when your cash flow is in the million.

I'd bet my last nickel that he will be as much a factor in California, as Jesse Ventura was in Minnesota.

Jesse is a true independent and Arnold is a Republican.  He will have the support of the Republican Party, such as it is, as Guv.  Let's hope that he can turn things around a bit.  He may even surprise some people.

First off, no real problem with your comments on Arnnie, may be true. Time will tell.

However, try building a company that does "millions". It's not easy. By the way, it's hundreds of millions for Arnnie. That is easier said than done.

I'm sick of this bullshit about "no experience"...GOOD! then maybe he will bring some integrity to the office. George Washington had "no experience" when he was selected president. What ever happened to political office being brief term of service to one's country and community?? You serve four years and go back to "the plow" so to speak. Why do we need these career politicians who many have never worked a day in their lives in the private sector becoming entrenched and fossilized (like TEd Kennedy, Jesse Helms, et al) in DC and state capitols growing forever more ignorant and out of touch with the real world???

As far as Arnold's "cash flow in the millions"...who the hell do you think CREATED that cash flow??? ARNOLD!!!! by his dedication, hard work and committment. He made himself successful and wealthy. Unlike Democrats, he didn't sit back and whine while expecting the rich to support him and government to provide for him. He went out and did for himself.

As for "tax cuts for the rich": another load of crap. Tax cuts go to those who PAY the taxes... the 'rich" earn 17% of all "income" yet pay over 30% of all income taxes. The top half of all wage earners pay 96% of all taxes....you cannot give cuts to those who don't pay much.  Want to benefit from tax cuts??? Go do the things that make you rich and you too can be the beneficiary of tax cuts.

It boggles the mind how people can stick up for Davis...and now he's signing any and all Marxist legislation that the left wing legislature is floating across his desk...mandatory health insurance for all companies with over fifty employees....pack up the office folks, more jobs leaving the Golden state. Arnold may not have a major impact due to the democrat legislature but what do you people want?? MOre Davis? Or maybe "Pleeze Boostamytaxes"?

Arnold does have the support of many people, he is reported to be a smart businessman who gets good people to work for him and lets them do their jobs.   It wouldn't surprise me if he got Tom McClintock to work with him on the budget ...

But all of that is secondary.   No Governor or President is invidually powerfule as their detractors think they are, what Arnold can do is get people to listen to him.

When Ronald Regan was Governor, and he ran into an impasse with the Legislature, he'd go on TV & Radio and appeal to the people and they'd call their representatives in droves telling them to get with the program.  Regan used to say "When you can't get them to see the light, you can get them to feel the heat."

IF Arnold gets on TV and tells the people "I need your help.  Call your representative and tell them to stop spending YOU money as if it was their OWN money"  ...  people will listen and things will happen.

I hope for the sake of the state, that Arnold has better diplomatic skills, than you do.

It will be interesting to see how Arnold gets along with the traditional Republican Party power brokers.  I believe that his view on social issues puts him into conflict with conservative right wing power base that seems to rule the party these days.  Only time will tell.....
