How about some help from friends out there? For several months I've been switching between Androgel and Testim, both prescription-only testerone enhancer gels designed to increase semen production for us older gents (I'm over 50) and therefore allow easier ejaculation. They are rubbed on shoulders daily and have had a positive effect, but cost is $1,5000-2,000 annually, way too much, and web sources and prescription buying plans (Fortis is the one I've used) are no big help. I hobby with several top providers in several cities and keep it up just fine for the whole of each session (sometimes with help of Cialis or other of the Rx big-3, lol), so outside stimulous and blood flow are not the problems. Trusty old home-town-five-finger always does the job, so mechanics aren't the problem either (this method knocks shit out of the fun factor, though!) Any suggestions? I've tried Canadian Rx sites, but for whatever reason Androgel and Testim aren't prescriptions they handle, legal restriction I expect. I have seen postings here and elsewhere for herbal solutions to ease ejaculation, but till now have gone the way suggested by my physician (thus the Androgel and Testim route). Might herbal remedies help (no hocus pocus, really help??) Any anecdotal experience out there, or better yet, scientific findings. And who do I trust in this, cause I expect docs frown on herbal answers? And since i know nothing about the herbal route, what about side affects? And is cost of herbal really significantly less than Rx route? HELP, and thanks for input.
before you do anything with a supplement, you should have a comprehensive blood test for your hormones and prohormones. You need to do this because you need to know exactly which hormones are lacking. Sometimes throwing more testosterone at the problem will cause your body to shut down its own testosterone production, making the problem worse. You could be too high in estrogens where an estrogen blocker would be more appropriate. You might be aromatizing testosterone into estrogens, which means if you supplement with T it becomes an estrogen and you feminize. A good doctor would look at all your hormones and test you on a consistent basis until you and he understand the effect of the hormone supplement in your system.
Your doctor would ask you if you are taking antihistimines. They lower your physical response. Prozac meds do the same. If you do elect to use hormone supplements you should closely monitor your prostrate health and have frequent PSA tests too.
Hey, great advice. Doc originally prescribed the Androgel and Testim, so I assume it was with all these other things in mind since he does an annual exam with blood work-up. I'll pass all this by him though, and after he blows for trampling on his doctoral turf, he'll have second thoughts and apologize (I'm a long-time patient and friend) and we'll discuss. I hope other advice also comes in and I can lick this thing. Still great fun hobbying, but I feel bad for the girls when I can't climax.
Please make your first try "Saw Palmetto" if you wish to try herbals. It's main purpose is to ease the prostrate but it seems to increase flow at the same time. There are other alternatives, but start here - if your doctor doesn't object (he shouldn't).
