I have been shaving for some time now and stubble has never been a problem. I use a Shick Silk (something) women's razor (easier to hold on to than most men's types...) and use Dove soap or Rainbath gel in the shower. Shaving around the shaft and balls every other day seems to do the trick. Above the shaft and back past my ass about every 2-3 days. Don't think I'll ever let it grow back. Love the look and the feeling.
As my time winds down and since there was some interest, I thought I would issue this as a Public Service Announcement (PSA) based on some lessons learned (Painful and Pleasurable).
1. Perform while in hot shower. Use gel shave, not foam. Also, recommend gel shave with aloe vera (not menthol).
2. For first timers, shave in direction of the hairs (on and around the shaft). After that, direction really doesn't matter.
3. Recommend the following razors for the anti-hirsute of us.
a. Bump Fighter Razor (@ Target, Sav-On, Longs Drugs). Great for first timers. The single blade is slightly above the skin, so you don't suffer from razor burn or the itch. Use Cocoa Butter as an after shave (Palmers 100%)
b. Schick Xtreme 3. This three bladed razor has an aloe vera strip for comfort, a pivoting head and a bottom bump guard. Result...a razor that shaves close comfortably and smoothly with no burning or scrapes, even with repeat strokes (lol). Again, apply cocoa butter to area after shaving.
...I actually prefer the guys au naturale... it cuts down on the stubble burn around the mouth and *truly* chapped, raw lips. Seriously -- how do you explain that one back at work when you don't have a/an S.O. to blame??? I'd rather deal with the *pa-tooey* soft, silky hairs; a well-groomed man doesn't shed much. Frenching five o'clock shadows is bad enough, but once (or twice) *around* the block does my face in! ;^)
On that note, has anyone tried the "Igia Finally Gone" hair removal system? They're advertising no hair regrowth for 8-10 months! If none of the girls have any feedback on this product, I'm gearing myself to ante-up the $80 and give it a try (on *at least* a 30-day money back guarantee). I'll follow up and let you know how it goes -- especially around the bikini area (and then some-yaya)!
More as in... a general high redness around the mouth area... or 'pinking'? Haven't you ever had stubble burn on your face after a heavy make-out session? Or, as a "bichick," after dining at the 'y'?
