Can anyone hip me to whether the Tantra thing is just a way to get ripped off by a provider in birkenstocks or is there something to it? Anyone know the real deal in this arena so I can investigate?

fortunately, they're not. Looked at all the stuff on the net, but am specifically interested to hear details from someone who's visited a Tantra provider.

Worth investigating, that's up to you.  Some people spend their lives invesigating UFO(s), while others think it's a crock (it's up to you).  Personally, I enjoy sex, and I'm always ready to TRY something new (if I have to step back I do) I've had a session with a local girl who is an expert at tantra and she can make a believer out of you.  She straighten me out on some issues and gave me some resource areas and a direction to think about.  Actually, I consider my session with her to be a turning point in my hobbying.

I think that the main idea is that in the "West" we have a limited view on our abilities to prolong the sexual experience while in the "East", there are disciplines centered around this area.  You know some may find it funny, but the kama sutra is not just a series of "R" rated T&A movies, it's a real doctrine, that works!!!!!

Tantra, like gfe, is mis-used a lot in this hobby.  I can imagine any of our favorite rip-off(s) on the phone,

"Yeah baby, I'm a true GFE and an expert at Tantra.  Just $$$.50 an hour!"  

Just because Bambie uses it in her ads does not mean "GFE" or "Tantra" are bs!

Many years ago I went to what turned out to be an extra special evening with a Trantra provider in the hills above Santa Cruz. Now from her reviews it indicates that she just does massage. YMMV. I found that 3 hours of extended massage DATY, BBBJ and many possitions of full service left me with a grin from ear to ear. Most providers look to get you there quick. Her goal was to bring you to the edge and keep you hanging in extasy for as long as you could take it.

It's not BS. One of the first experiences I had in the hobby was with a tantric provider and it was excellent. I have since learned more about what Tantra means from another provider and friend who is trying to enlighten me all around. It's interesting what you find out as you delve deeper into what it is and what it isn't. However I am no expert. If you're in the LA area I know precisely who you should at the least talk to. I highly recommend Tiffany here to help you learn the truth about Tantra, she is a goddess and very insightful. As I said I am learning more about what things really mean as opposed to what some of the provider's sites say about it. Do your research though. Again not all who say they practice really do, and you can get the wrong impresion entirely.
