Thanks for the feedback.

Like I said, I'm new to the internet aspects of the hobby. Having never dealt with a touring independent, I wasn't sure what to expect. I wanted to "get in line early" to make sure I got to see her.  And she is only going to be here a couple days and my schedule only allowed for a couple different times during those couple days. Live and learn.

I didn't know (and still don't really) if a provider with her type of reputation and credentials will sell out of her available appointment times for a given visit to my town. Maybe yes, maybe no.

As for back up plans, that's not a big concern for me. We have some quality providers (although I think the only one here in my town with the reputation of the provider in question retired last year, before I had the opportunity to meet her.

Anyway, I had a great experience over the weekend and I'm looking forward to meeting a new friend next week. After that, who knows.

I'm still a newbie when it comes to the internet aspects of the hobby.

A highly regarded lady recently scheduled a tour-stop for my town about five weeks in advance. I wanted to book an appointment. I reviewed her website and filled out her appointment request form which stated that I would receive a response in a few days....I received an automatic email saying that my request had been received but I hear nothing back from her. I wait a week and send a follow-up email. I hear nothing back. I wait another week and send another email asking if she had decided against visiting my town. I finally hear back with a brief email that doesn't confirm the preferred day and time I stated in my appointment request. And, she acted like I was out of line for sending her an email once a week when her appointment request clearly stated that I would hear back from her in a day or two at the most. All I wanted to do was make sure I was able to reserve a day and a time that worked for me so I could see her, and it wasn't like I was emailing her every day or every hour or anything. I wasn't harassing her. Am I wrong for being frustrated? It's like calling a provider from a newspaper ad with voice mail who tells you to leave a message and she'll call you right back and she never calls back. It's bad business if you ask me.

In the mean time, two other touring companions schedule tour stops ahead of the original girl. I am easily able to book appointment with them and firm up dates and times within a couple days. In fact I spent 3 incredible hours with one of them earlier this week and I'm looking forward to meeting the other next week for a three hour get-together. For what I feel is poor customer service, I cancelled my appointment request with Lady #1. She may have glowing reviews, but I didn't like the way I was being treated.

Is it typical to hear back from providers (especially touring providers) in a few days or is it more typical that it takes 2 or 3 weeks? Am I being unrealistic? I would prefer being able to schedule a day and time even knowing that a provider may cancel her tour-stop if she doesn't receive enough interest from the guys in the town.

Just wondering what others have experienced.

Can't comment a whole lot regarding personal experience in this particular area as I seldom see touring providers, but from where I sit you did nothing wrong.  Chalk it up to experience & move on...remembering of course who she was so that you don't repeat the frustration (at least not with her).

It's my experience that email responses and meeting confirmations with touring providers don't start to flow until a few days before the visit. I don't start to get concerned about a response till then. I’ve often sent an email appointment request 2 or 3 weeks (never 5) in advance, to ensure a place on the schedule. Frequently, I don’t get a confirmation until a few days before the event. The message usually begins with “sorry for the delay.”

A provider has to do a lot of things to determine whether the trip will be worth it, and there are many arrangements to be made. Touring girls rely a great deal on regulars in the ports they visit, so those appointments are made in priority while a new client is worked into the schedule.

A traveling provider could give you more detail about the why's, but they certainly suffer from the same technical issues we all do. They're email gets full or delayed, misfiled and they can forget who they already responded to.

I certainly don't think you were out of line by sending a follow-up email, (unless the tone was accusatory) but patience is important.

I don't count on travelers. I send 1 message, and if they don't ever return it, I assume there is a reason. I don't blame anyone in this world for wanting to limit communications, so I never expect a "sorry I'm not going to make it" message. If there isn't a reason, I don't want to do business with someone who is simply unreliable anyway.

You're right in your personal experience that there are other ladies with whom it's easy to make an appointment. I always have a back-up plan if the date and time is that significant.

I have seen a few traveling ladies. Most are very quick to reply to email. There can be a few days delay, she may not have a computer with her and is either using Kinko's or some other rental source.

From what I read you responded exactly as I would have. Sometimes there are reasons for delays, especially while traveling. However it didn't sound like she was having problems, just attitude.

Enjoy the traveling ladies, they offer a nice variety. Don't let this one lady mess it up for you.

ladies here, that if someone is not courteous and professional, I simply move on to the next. The girl who is too busy to be courteous now, will probably be the one offering discounts in a year when everyone gets tired of her B/S. Many don't realize this and fail to offer simple business courtesies. Their loss.

You did the right thing. She could be busy, but since this is her business she should've responded to your appointment request alot sooner and with less attitude. She may have done you a favor. I wouldn't want to see someone with her customer service skills.
