It could be a very useful tool. But as it stands, I would say no that it does not make a difference. Because no one really seems to use it with any consistency.
I've always liked using the TER to verify a potential client and welcome any additional resources to help me do so. Especially since I think that a lot of the information requested for screening is way to personal and a bit invasive. But I have to say that I think that on some level the integrity of the review system is under minded by having both sides give their two cents on each other in the same forum. To get the White List going hobbyist are encouraged to ask to be white listed. But doesn't that open the door for the provider to ask to be reviewed as well??? Or even to be reviewed in a more favorable light than what the hobbyist might have originally done??? I think if a greater level of anonymity were maintained between providers and the hobbyist online alter egos, the reviews would be more accurate and more honest rather than an attempt to buy the others favor.
I'd think not. I've been told I'm a great client, yet only one sweet woman thought fit to say so. So, when I'm seeing someone new, I still have to provide references.
