How much information do you feel is too much information?  I recently encountered a problem where I gave the lady the name of a known provider as I always do that I have seen.  This provider wanted more names, then my work info, then my home phone, and home address.  I thought that was too much information to give. I told her I was uncomfortable at that and moved on.  Actually I am glad I did.  I am pretty sure I had a much better time than with the 1st lady.  I understand the reasons for screening and I am not by any means trying to get you ladies to let down your policies.  I just thought this was extreme.  This happened in Washington DC areas.

Only give what your comfortable in giving, if that's not enough her loss ... then move on to someone else ....... there are so many fish in the sea....

You should check that out. However, as Spinner says, do whatever you're comfortable with, and move on, is ALWAYS your prerogative.
Why do you think we ask work info - do you know? If we can establish that you work at XXX Company, then it's not likely you are a cop..
Why do you think we ask for a land line or home phone? Home address? Because those can be verified with some great tools that will identify YOU. We need to prove you are who you SAY you are, as well as prove who you're NOT. It's not so we can chat with your boss; call your wife; and drive by your house and wave hello to the kiddies..!! Be glad when you see a provider ask for this, as she is a Professional, and be careful if they are willing to see you just based on somebody else's word - you're putting yourself at a much higher risk of YOU yourself being arrested - think about it!!.. It isn't extreme at all - it's pretty much the norm if you want to hobby safely and my goal is safety - mine and my clients. I enjoy it when I know the men have done their 'homework', and I hope they do when I've done mine.
..Or, you can always choose to be 'comfy' instead of SAFE..

We started this discussion a couple of days ago.  The link below is to the beginning of that thread.  I posted a note about an organization called Date-Check, along with a link.  You may want to consider looking at that site.  I fully understand your opinion, and in general do not disagree, but this thread also shows you about the provider's side of the equation.

Most woman want to not only find out if you are NOT law enforcement, but also a complete psycho. There are LOTS out there.
I do believe your home address is way too much.
I usually ask for a provider reference and a valid home #.
IF you do NOT have a reference, then I need a home # also.

Don't take it personally, its just they want to make sure that they are safe.

I don't like to give out my home phone and home address because they are listed in my S/O's name for  professional reasons.  My office teds to block calls to since we get a lot of solicitations so I have a script I give people I want to get through to talk to me either to identify me as actually working there.
I think the more efficient the ladies screen the better off we all are since then you are less likely to get caught up in a sting or if they go through her past records and manage to pick you up.

I don't know any providers of my personal acquaintance who ask for home phones or adresses.

I mean, do I want a client knowing where I live? No way! (I share an incall apartment with another girl, used only for business.) So, I can certainly understand why a client wouldn't want me to know where he lives for all kinds of reasons.

It always boggles my mind when men want me to do outcall at their homes, especially those who are married (and their spouse is away). Personal information like that could be devastating if I was a malicious kind of girl (although I'm not).

What if a provider got angry at a client...one little phone call to wifey ("You have such a lovely granite master bathroom countertop.")and here comes a very expensive divorce!

It is.
And so is being arrested for doing whatever you consent to do in your own privacy (but alas, stupid laws..).
I completely understand where you're coming from, and how the client feels cuz we don't like it either. I don't know what area you're in, but here in SD where LE is crawling all over our asses 24/7, this IS what we do in order to get around what THEY do. And that's a normal practice here..
As for psycho Providers - there certainly are some out there and hopefully, the gents do their homework and pick good ones. I'm a good one.

Since you don't have VIP membership, I can't PM you, nor is your website link showing for me to be able to contact you, but if you would like more examples of why it's done and what it resolves, I can tell you further. My contact information is available.
BTW, I think we'd all LOVE to see this gorgeous4fun woman! How about it?

Hoping you accept this is the way in which it was intended.

Best regards,
Sedona

You've got my address and a map to my house.  How?  Just plug my phone # into google, and since it's in the book, it pops up with my name and address, with a map link that puts a little star next to my house.  Quick and accurate.

My preference for screening:
1.  I'm willing to give you my TER handle, and you can email me the info to my TER email account.  This has a couple of advantages:  you can see my posts and reviews, and determine if we have some shot at compatability.

2.  My cell phone isn't blocked and it gives my name on caller ID.

3.  I'll give a reference or two that I've seen.

How does this sound?  Does it only work if the guy is active here on discussion boards and reviews

or listed telephone number in the year 2003? For my entire existance, my family has never had a listed or published telephone number. On that same note, why would anyone even have a home phone number? If you have broadband, I don't see a need for a home telephone number.

You are so darling, I'm smiling reading this!
I posted elsewhere about the TER handles cuz you guys are so funny about them! You hang onto them for dear life! Take anything, ANYTHING, I tell ya, but NOT my TER handle and review name! LOL LOL
It's exactly right, EJ2, what you have written for #1, and has even greater advantages, too.
You're also correct about plugging in a land phone number into google and it providing the address. Amazing, huh?

I have to PM you the rest as I can't print here..oops! I can't - you have no VIP envelope showing for PM!?

Talk more later, I guess. You know how to reach me for what I needed to tell you further.

Kiss,
Sedona

..............would practice their hobby at home.  Maybe it's just me, but around here there are many hotels set up for a short term stay that are inexpensive (even the best is under $50) that it just seems unwise to do such a thing.  I'm widowed and live alone, so there are fewer vindictive repercussions that could occur.  But I still go to a hotel or to a provider's incall location.

Maybe it's different in other places.

But the phone book attests to the fact that lots of  people do have a listed phone #.

As for why a home phone #, have you ever heard of teenagers?  I can deal quite nicely without a home phone #, just going with cell and broadband with a wireless network in the house.  But multiple teenagers in the house?  They'd kill me on the cell minutes.

....the envelope after a persons name doesn't necessarily mean they are a VIP member. We all have them when we use the initial name we signed up to TER with. Not being a VIP member doesn't mean you can't recieve PM, only that you can't read it until you become a VIP member, as opposed to a basic member. Rather, the lack of an envelope next to someones name means they are posting under an alias.
