You know it's a crazy world when ...

The best Rapper is white
The best Golfer is black
The Swiss possess the America's Cup
The French are calling us arrogant
and the Germans don't want to go to war.

Megapig...Did you choose not to answer my request for your Rush Limbaugh thoughts? I was really eager to hear them.

when Al Franken is PROVEN right!

I heard what Rush said about McNabb ... and quite frankly, I couldn't care less unless someone paid me to care less.  He expressed an opinion that wasn't without merit and got the expected result by saying a Politically Incorrect thing in a PC world.   Personally I think he should have stayed until Disney fired him ... but all of that is, as they say, show business.

As far as his personal character is concerned, visa vi the drug allegations .... if proven true it would be sad.   But drug user or not, I don't see how if affects his message or, apparently, his clarity of thought on the issues.

Now, I have no personal like for Rush Limbaugh.  In fact, I have a grudge against him for throwing me out of the Conservative Movement several years ago.  But he IS right about the issues far more often than he is wrong.   Nor has he, to my knowledge, every told anyone to "trust me and what I say because of my character and who I am."   He presents the facts, then puts his opinions forth in an eloquent manner and asks and expects you and everyone else to draw their own conclusions.  So even if he turns out to be a drug addict, I still can't fault his analysis.

Now ask me about the Dixie Chicks.

I am a rabid football fan and I my TV is almost always on espn. I was against the hiring of Rush Limbaugh, I don't agree with his politics and he grates on my nerves. When I heard he said something that got him in trouble I was happy to see him go. When I actually heard what he had to say I thought it was ridiculous that he got in
so much trouble for it.

I am a fantasy football enthusiast, which means that I am all over the stats and performances of all the players in the league, including Donovan McNabb who has been fantasy gold since he entered
got the starting job in Philly. Rush presented some interesting points, which was his job on the show, but he was ultimately off. There is nothing wrong with that, and since people like Dusty Baker can get away with saying whatever they want on these issues its rather hypocritical to fire Rush for similar stuff.

Personally, I hate Rush and everything he stands for.  However, whether he uses drugs or not is of no importance to me.  He is not an elected politician or a government employee, he is merely an entertainer.

That being said, Rush has made several statements in the past like "Drug addiction is a choice, not a disease and all abusers should be locked up on thier first offense."

I hate hipocrits.  Rush is a big one as are a lot of conservitives that preach thier moral nonsense to the public and then do things such as hire providers, etc.

I hate liberal hypocrites as well.  Organizations like NOW who try to blame conservative white males for all the problems that women have in this country and are quick to jump on any sexual indiscretion by a conservative white male but are more than willing to give Ted Kennedy or Bill Clinton a pass on the acts they commit on a personal level because their public political views are considered proper.  In addition the same organization at the national level refused to speak out against spousal abuse by O.J. because he was a minority.

I could go on about Gloria Allred and a number of other people but the bottom line is that there are plenty of hypocrites to go around whether they are liberal or conservative.

It doesn't respect party or political philosopyy.

You are right, hypocrites are on both sides.  However, the differnece between Clinton and Arnold is that Monica was a willing participant.

Also, groups like NOW and PITA are so far off the left wing scale, I dont even consider most of thier positions.  They do not represent everyday liberals such as myself.  Rush DOES appeal to the masses however.

Yes in theory Monica was a willing paticipant.  However she was an low level employee having sex with the top boss.  If this had been the president of GM having sex with his secretary many of the liberals and women's groups would have been screaming that by his very position it amounted to coercive sex.  Whether you believe that statement to be correct that is the double standard that gets applied in many instances.

What the f--k are you talking about?

I just hate the fact that he is AN IGNORANT FUCK!

Rush has never creased a history book in his life, so you can't use any thing he says as a "truth".

But he is fun to listen to and I like his combativeness- makes for great radio.   The only problem is that his audience actually believes he knows something.

That said I have to say that his present QB problem is undeserved- although he seems to be a junkie!

Rush- have another oxycontin on me buddy!

Old joke.  It is from a Chris Rock show last year.

Isn't it odd that Tiger Woods is always referred to as black. No one ever says, isn't it weird that the best golfer is Thai? He is half Thai. But all people see is black.

Actually, I believe he is a mix of a handful of races.  He should definitely be refered to as black.  Whatever he is, he's really pretty!

Why should he "definatly be referrewd to as black"? Is it the old racist attitude that having any black blood makes you black? I beleive that used to be law in some southern states.
It is my understanding that his mother is Thai and from Thailand.

I believe it's the loud 10 percent on both sides of the spectrum that make us think the world has gone insane.  Rush can say what he wants, and so can Al Franken (though I think Al has a more persuasive argument) but the truth exists somewhere in the middle. I think we like a fight, we like to win, sometimes at any costs, and what we see in politics and business is the fallout from that general attitude.  The more active and ugly that 10 percent on both sides becomes, the less engaged the moderates become to temper the argument.  It is wonderful to live in a country where you can say what you think and make your own judgements, but I find it harder then ever to get to the "truth" of any issue.  There are so many voices and just about every one of them is financially motivated.
