You know 3 years of trying to be eloquent and honest sure as hell doesn't pay off very often.

I went to help a girl on the ladies board of TBD today only to discover my posting privledges have been terminated. Amazing how they claim TER censors everything, when just this morning I post under the Natl. Mods newest post with a bit of sarcasm, and it was systematically deleted and I am not able to post.

*sigh*

Oh well I will behave here I promise

as of noon Pacific time, I was no longer allowed to post on TBD. All access to the ladies board and the members board was terminated. This after I have already paid my membership a year in advance and Im only 4 months into it. This after being a paid member and banner advertiser for 3 years. This after putting up with their bullshit.

Im sorrry Staff. If you would like me to take this elsewhere I will. But I find it so interesting thast they are bitching about you not letting people post here, all the while, they have my money and I am banned from their site after 3 years.

I wrote to Support asking for my last 8 months on my membership back. The responce I got was "Bigdoggie will look into and take appropriate action". Whatever that means.

So I guess I proved my point all along. They are no better than anyone else. The claim TER is run by Satan....well TBD seems to be run by Hoover.............

This is awful! why would they do this to you? I will never go there now that you said this. What a waste of money. I'm glad you posted.

Thank you,

Lass,

I hope this did not come as a shock to you.  I read your recent posts there & many in the past on TER, none of which seemed out of line to me.  Both TBD & TER have their detractors as well as supporters, & on an individual basis each perhaps for valid personal reasons whatever they might be.  But justified or not, each person is entitled to feel as they may.  It's unfortunate that so many feel the need to attach blind allegiance to one & trash the other.

And I would hope anyone reading this doesn't feel that's what I'm doing in this case, nor does this have anything to do with the Dave/Amy situation...it's a statement of my general observation & opinion.

I was apparently kicked off TBD myself long ago when I was at the time making use of both sites.  I was never given a reason...just suddenly personna no grata there.  But I  can assume there were two reasons: (1) I had posted something positive about TER..which never made their board BTW.  (2) The site apparently had a number of cliques & I had the audacity to retailate when one of their favorites attacked me..defintitely not something I take kindly to, nor will I ever regardless of who it is.

I hadn't even been back to that site until the recent soap opera saga began, & did so only for a little enlightenment about what was being said.  Should I ever feel that I've been treated by TER the way I was by TBD, I'd be out of here so fast I couldn't be timed on a stopwatch..& that goes for anywhere I'm at, be it a site of this nature of some other setting.  There are few things I demand of others, but respect is defintely one of them...life is too short to live without it.  We all had lives before the internet, & we'll all have lives if it implodes.

No site is perfect...not TBD & not TER.  TBD has their favorite people in certain instances & I assume the same may well be true of TER.

I have visted TBD a couple of times.  I found it to be very cliquish and negative.  I prefer TER which has a more postive atmosphere.  Although not perfect I think they have good intentions.

I don't like the idea of moderating or banning board members because of their unpopular views.  Then again, I am not an operator or moderator of a discussion board.

Just in life, there are good and bad in most human affairs.  Unfortunately, it is extremely hard for one to take criticisms.  Even though I take pride in my more low key approach to attacks come my way, I still couldn't resist to respond constantly in most cases.

Drama can be fascinating and addictive to watch from the sideline.  However, there are more wonderful things in life to spend one's time with.

Since you have already eased out of this hobby, no sure it is worth your while to get all muddled up.

If only I could control my emotions at times and follow the advice surfaced in my mind.  Nonetheless, I have made peace with myself years ago about how I am.  Hopefully, others won't suffer too much from my nosiness and occasional rumbling.

Take care.

I am new to the whole organized part of the hobby such as TER. A menber only since May, but from what I have heard about TBD and their problems with LE I wonder whay anyone would want to be on their board.  I know several large news organizations are looking into the whole TBD problems and the upcoming trail.

from some news accounts, that case has been dismissed by a judge several months ago.  I could be wrong but I doubt that.

I hope that you'll keep posting messages and submitting reviews no matter which site you decided to use more often.  I believe in contributing back to the hobbyists' community since I personally benefit from other members experience.

Even though I choose to post messages in TER boards using an alias, I do have a sizable number of reviews published, some of them as a first reviewer.

JMHO, TER members are more diligent in identifying problems in reviews or providing thoughtful views on various matters.

Happy hobbying.  May your journey in this fantasy world as wonderable as mine. :-)

I'll tell ya,
I just recently became active on TER. Before that I pretty much kept to myself and advertised locally, did some circuit travel, things like that. At the gentle urging of my fav client, I became active here and have had a chat night, visited the Lounge a few times since and have started coming out of my shell and posting to the discussion boards.I had checked out "another" site and after reading about it's legal issues, I think I'll stay right here. At this point as far as the adult entertainment industry goes, I am a Foot Domme and no more, but the warm reception I recieved from TER and it's members, (along with the PLEADING of my fav client who wants to share me with the world LOL), has made me re-think the decision I have made and consider coming back to the business as a FS provider for TER hobbyists in the future. You guys and girls are great and really make me feel comfortable. Thank you.

How things have gotten. I remember the good old days when Staff or the Message Board moderators did exaclty that...moderated. As long as the debates didn't get out of hand and the posters refrained from racial slurs or became degrading or offensive, you could voice your opinion and even show your distaste on how things were being run without the risk of being censored or banned ( GND was always there with a helpful word or to explain why something was done a certain way).

We providers are often accused of being thin skinned and need to realize that certain things, however distasteful, simply come with the business we are in. I think this holds true for anyone, including review message board owners/moderators who decide to become enterprising in this industry, whatever the aspect.

Like any club that pays dues ie. membership costs, if you are trying to attract a certain type of member ( click?), perhaps there should be a certain criteria to screen whom you allow access. This will ensure that the views the owner values are the same views that his/her patrons will hold. I am not sure how this would happen, but it will be a lot easier in the maintenance of the board ( ie. censoring or keeping a vigilant eye on those posters who may not post favorably to the board's criteria).

I am not saying this is the right way to run a message board, but by the looks of things with both TER and TBD, this is how things are already. Why do it half assed?

Hopefully things will start working themselves out.

I may have a membership here and I do frequent the boards (and a good number of providers), but I have little time to run a complex website like this.

Like every other successful business-devil, I franchised this concept to the owners and they promised me their souls at a future date.

So, now you know the actual business arrangement.  Maybe now I can get some peace and quiet down here and get back to roasting the souls of the owners of TDB!

Sincerely,
The Evil One

BTW: The rumor about Hillary IS true.  We are not going to accept her down here because we are afraid she'll take over when she arrives.

The interesting thing, Lass, it that we posted EVERY post on "THE" thread below.   Even the negative ones I believe brought value.

No post was deleted.
No Users Banned.

Interesting, no?

you're not sure how this would happen? ... i am!  :-)

make TER a paysite only, period. anyone who is a serious hobbyist can afford its membership fee. anyone who can't or won't pay is most likely not serious and/or part of the indigent riff-raff we most certainly wanna keep out.

one of the very first tirades i posted on this board was about the problem with PUBLIC msg boards (in general). with a few modifications the same argument applies (with equal force) to the situation of TER as a hobbyist's favourite website.

the wise folks who run TER should begin to notice by now (based on their good turn of business and building reputation in this community) that they are practically GIVING AWAY valuable goods (the all-but-juicy-details data) to people who could care less about this online "community" and giving back to it!

if you're gonna moderate me, moderate me. but please let this post stay up. so others know they are not alone in thinking the same thoughts.

sincerely,

Take a bunch of women whose temperament for the most part would be best suited to working outdoors, give them a website, and voila! they become a high class courtesan. No muss, no fuss, who needs class and breeding? Just add greenbacks and stir.

I will try to say this with a straight face, but I simply cannot walk into the pimpathon aka TBD without feeling a little dirty afterwards. I just feel like I'm at Gage and Figueroa all over again.

Singleton,

I do not see any reason to moderate you. There is nothing wrong with your suggestion.

There was a discussion about this on the Suggestions/Policy board, http://theeroticreview.com/msgBoard/ViewMsgBody.asp?BoardID=4&Messageid=1595 .

I prefer letting the public read these boards, and anyone may submit messages, but it doesn't mean those messages will be approved.  While anyone can read these boards, not everyone may contribute to them.  New posters' messages must be approved before they appear on the boards.  Only after one of the moderators feels the poster is contributing with good intentions does a moderator un-moderate the poster.  So, I think it works pretty well.

I never had a problem with attitude, actually I encourage it as long as the gripe was a legitimate one. Too many ladies are afraid to vent their feelings and insist on being nice-nice. A couple vent them in a way where their contempt for their clients (and perhaps themselves as well) is so patent it makes it easy for me not to consider them.

I have strong opinions myself, and sometimes I can't express them as diplomatically as I'd like to. But at the end of the day, it's not my house I'm playing in. However, for better or worse, the housekeeping here is much neatee than it is in Tampa.

Wish you were around more often, em. Beauty, brains and intellectual honesty should always be welcome here.
