Re:Providers and Email ... Sup?

I own several businesses and when I work with people, I usually email them and say thank you. I even follow this practice when I hobby. I write the provider a brief email thanking her for taking the time to see me that day and that I enjoyed being with her.

However, I would say that half of the providers don't take the time to respond to even that kind of a message. I don't say this accusatorially and I may get "shot" by some of the providers but it seems odd that many say, "Email me" on their websites and yet they don't respond when a person does email them.

I do realize that a number of providers might not be able to respond until the next day and business-wise that is acceptable. But no response at all is "poor business".  I know that in business the better your lines of communication the greater the chance you have of gaining a person as a customer. It only seems logical it would improve a provider's business if she also hones her information and communication skills.

Just curious ...

I always send the provider a short thank you note and I have always received a reply.  That being said, I have also had the situation where she sent me an email and for some reason it keep getting bounced back to her as "undeliverable".

even if the guy sounds like LE or an idiot. I also try to send a "thank-you" email after a date. Wink!

Since posting this thread, I thought more about who had and had not responded. I guess I am not surprised that it is usually the ladies 30 and up that respond.

BTW - I quickly gave up trying to set appointments via email after my first three attempts failed.

I am a cellphone guy ...

Hey hun, I used to answer those emails but I don't feel comfortable replying to them anymore since I've had a few guys wives' get into their email, etc. I don't like to keep emailing back & forth too much.

Anyways, just my experience. If a GF or wife sees an email saying 'I had a great time meeting you too', it would be harder for her to believe the meeting never took place IMO.

"Idiots" meaning those who email and ask the most stupid questions or ask "how much" when you have a website that spells out everything. Plus, someone shouldn't be asking that question via email or phone anyway. We all know what an idiot is (via our own dictionary terminology), but that was a cute discription you used. I'll have to use that one sometime. You're too funny. Wink!

because if a gentleman is emailing me from the same email address asking me for a date, then I respond after the date with a "thank you", doesn't it seem strange to suddenly be paranoid. I know I email right after the date (within a day). However, if manners are not appreciated, then I have no problem with not responding to a date and being polite. Wink!
