I have friends on aim and yahoo messenger   so I use both  during most work days to keep in touch with friends I have in various parts of the country

Here is a MUCH better program called Trillian.  It links with AOL, MSN, ICQ, Yahoo, and IRC.  It is a universal instant messenger client.  You can use the free program to enable you to keep tabs on people from 5 different services.
