Providers and mobility - related to my post about best quality locations.
One thing that I am envious about when I meet good, solid providers is that they can choose to live almost anywhere they want to and prosper. Most hobbyist, unless they are of fortunate birth or self-made wealthy, cannot live almost anywhere they please. The same observation is valid when travel to new locations is the topic. My question for hobbyists is do you sometimes find yourself envious of the living location and travel freedom of the best providers?
Because of kids or parents or other responsibilities, they have less mobility than you seem to think.
I always hear my neightbor telling me that if he was a woman he would be sooo rich. Of course, I don't have to tell you why. I always laugh when he tells me this but really, I don't think it is that funny.
He tells me that he would be the biggest wh*re.
Could that be a shared feeling amongst allot of guys?
If all the Providers became hobbbyists....and all the Hobbyitsts became Providers, I feel the new providers would go broke!
I personally belive I would make a crappy Provider, spending all day with myself?
Vannessa,
It's not how I feel. I admire anyone who cares deeply about their work, but I recognize that I do not have the temperament to be a courtesan.
I think that most guys who make such statements haven't really thought them through for lack of understanding the realities you ladies face.

So true!!!!
But you have to admit, we do have allot of fun!![]()

That's not entirely true. This is, after all, a business for these ladies, and many of them rely on regular clients to provide them with a degree of stability. Relocation means having to build new business relationships from scratch, which can be costly in any business.
There are also regional differences regarding "acceptable busines practices" that the ladies must observe in order to fit in with their peers. While the community relies so heavily on networking and relationships, there is also a necessary layer of secrecy that is not easily penetrated. A lady cannot simply announce her presence in a new city and expect a warm welcome.
I don't envy any of these ladies their travel freedom, as it's been mentioned in other posts how very risky such travel can be.

Dear Yoda,
Everyone makes choices.
Many prefer to see new ladies others don't.
That is where touring comes into consideration.
It is temporary but it must "work" for some who all they do is tour and not work in their own cities.
Many different scenarios are to be considered.
Still, it is fun to travel & meet new people.
It is an adventure.
Yes, there are risks but I am sure that with proper precautions, a smart lady can work smarter not harder and still have fun. Also the change of scenery is nice to some.
Don't you agree that it can be fun?![]()
MasterYoda. I wonder who some of the providers that you mentioned facing danger are seeing. I prefer to see high end providers who screen very carefully, so maybe I am somewhat ignorant of all that is associated with providing. The providers who I have seen after joining TER seem to enjoy what they are doing or are comfortable that they are reaching, or have reached financial or educational goals that they set for themselves.
As provider, you ALWAYS take chances, a traveling provider even more! Screnning is not ALWAYS 100 %. We have no shows, cancellations and never know if we will come out with a profit.
Touring ladies are also targets for crimes, so it's not always the picnic you think it is!
Don't forget that the gentleman are also victims of crimes.
Still, it's fun.![]()
Foxy Lady explains my point better than I did. I didn't say "danger," I said "risk," and meant financial risk, for the most part. There was a post recently about this, essentially asking how a provider might better assure herself of a profitable trip.
Sorry I was unclear.

From what I've seen, granted hasn't been much, the ones who travel live out of a suitcase for a week or so. They rarely get to go and see anything of interest in the area. Add onto that the travel hassles, flight delays, rental cars, etc. and what have you ... then put the guys who have booked and cancel into the mix ... no thanks.
Traveling is nice, meeting new people from wherever would be cool. But there are a lot of headaches involved too.
And considering many have lives outside being a provider, I don't think it's as glamorous as it may appear. The business side of the business alone keeps them busy. Add in a boyfriend, SO, a kid or two, school, college, housework, bills, etc. ... they have some freedom with their time, yes. And most do pretty good financially, but after taxes, expenses and all that ... they're probably just as broke as us hobbyists only at a different level.
It's been my experience that those who truly can choose where to live, where to go, what to wear, drive, etc. are the only one's who are truly free. Whether you're born into it, hit a lottery, or make something of yourself.
The fact is one of the biggest reason's I respect these ladies is they wanted something and they have figured out a way to get it. How many people live and die and never take one chance, or a single risk? Living their life of quiet desperation. They work wherever, slowly becoming whatever it is they do for a job, and then they sick and then they die. Never knowing what it might be like to go after a higher lifestyle, more freedoms, more money, a better home, car or whatever. At least a provider has balls enough to go for what she wants.
If more people had that kind of determination and drive the world would be a different place. I feel for the better.
