Have had this happen before and it really peeves me.  Only now seeing maybe 4-6 new clients a month. Being here in California have had appt requests from out of state gents traveling to Los Angeles on business-  More times than not they get here and their schedule gets changed and it takes considerable adjusting for me to accomondate their schedules to mine from the original scheduled appt. time but I do my best because I know they're not local.  But rarely does this happen that after you talked with day before and gave travel directions do they not show up or call.  I usually establish a re-confirmation call day before which we did with the re-call at the end of their business day--so as not be intrusive- on the way to appt.  If either of our schedules should change standard business protoccol would be a courtesy call ASAP so neither of us ends up with nonproductive time on our schedules.  Gent scheduled two hr appt I passed on two other appts with established clientele because couldn't work out the time given set appt with confirmed gent from St. Louis.  Ended up with absolutely no appts on a Friday do to his no show nor call.  Truly hope gent is ok but I'll probably never know what happened.  Many times I never end up connecting with gents from out of state because of their schedule changing and usually I miss out on other appts because of set times that keep changing.  Normally my budget wouldn't be impacted negatively but this time I have some heavy rather life impactful committments with deadlines that if I don't perform my contractual committment there will be severe repercussions. This was one time I needed to have my appts come together as it was planned on to meet my committment.  I'm considering now on requiring a deposit from out of state new clients on first appts.
Most likely this will deter appts with me and to some degree that's fine because given I may only see these gents once a year if ever again at all.  In the long run, only about one out of every 5 aren't problematic.  Than I missed seeing my gents that actually are 99.9% reliable.  I don't know if any of you gents will see yourself in this post and surely believe that the majority would call when timing isn't coming together ASAP. Just realise the phone call definitely is a plus and being gracious about a appt that is canceling is what I always try to be because I understand things unforseen can pop up.  Understand though it still is like your boss calling you and saying things came up so we're giving you the day off without pay.  To much of that and it would adversely effect your ability to budget for your financial obligations too.  So please try to avoid having this happen as we can't always afford this any better than you could. Regardless I'm going to think long and hard about accepting appts from traveling business men from out of state because it just involves more most time than makes any sense--actually venting (Men are from Mars Women from Venus stuff)while I'm stressing about how I'm going to fill in the shortfall in meeting my looming committment on the 3rd. No easy solutions here just all enjoy your Labor Day-- LOLuv Cheridan

if I had made a an appointment with a provder that I was not going to keep.  And I don't see what is so wrong with deposits in the situation you mentioned.

I like to reserve a nice hotel room for my incalls. At least 4 stars. They don't come cheap. I understand if something comes up and people have to cancell at the last minute. However the hotels are not so understanding, they have a 24 hour cancellation policy. So I end up eating the cost of a hotel room that never gets used. And no way to recover the cost. I hate it when that happens. Megan Riley

only see you once.

Another possibility is that the guy double-booked and chose to see someone else (perhaps closer to his hotel) and did not want to have to make up an excuse so he never bothered to call at all.

This is not a case of men are from mars and women are from venus.  This is just a lack of common courtesy.

In the dictionary, his picture should be next to the word "ASSHOLE".  What Cheridan describes is probably a big problem among providers who travel and/or clients who travel.  I am in category 2, a client who travels from time to time.  And I used to travel 35 weeks annually. I have never cancelled or changed an appointment with less tha 48 hours notice in 30+ years!  I for one can't understand why anyone would be so callous or disrespectful.

that's terrible that one doesn't call if they cancel.  you should post the individual on this board.  its like a ripoff.

you should have every guy confirm 2 hours or 3 hours before.  next day confirmations is too long a period.

cheridan,  "I have some heavy rather life impactful committments with deadlines that if I don't perform my contractual committment
there will be severe repercussions.".....are you a provider living on the edge...doesn't sound too good...you almost sound desperate...is everything OK...

Agreed.  Definitely the hobbier version of a "ripoff".

I guess it was a rip-off but how would you even post it without breaching a persons identity-  really can't not sure I would if I could---not usually a get even type of gal.  And for searchingfor fun any of us that parlay in this hobby from provider to hobbyist but heavier I feel for the provider we do walk along an edge.  Me  desparate far from it if ever--but on a cool eve just before New's Years at 1AM ----desparate, panic, helpless as someone tried to end my life and I was being attacked---not even than did that enter into my life---because even in the face of death desparate and panic become your enemies and cloud your ability to re-act. They are never the feelings that should preside for more than a fleeting second in any aspect of ours lives because those two lead to poor outcomes or death.  Desparate is what leads people to committ crimes where there are in deed victims.  After they have been caught--you'll hear this word used as to why they did what they did---  So I avoid being a desparado ----am I OK!
Damn Straight---Everyday I wake up and I'm above ground I know it's a great day and you can bet I don't waste them but sometimes others actions cause me to lose precious moments that are irreplaceable. At those times there is no amount of money that can offset lost time and the feeling is a deep sadness. Because this last 16 months has been like the Cloessus at Magic Mountain and to date has cost me over $100,000 in medical, lose of earnings, expenses that keep happening that are a direct result of this incident and am currently trying to climb over I hope my last financial mountain due to this life changing experience.  So  yes this no show was definitely untimely.  Through out this whole ordeal, only a few ever knew what happened. I was compelled to post the situation about the no show eluding to the fact it was wrong--but moreover, to say, don't assume we can afford the cancellation. You never know what we maybe personally dealing with and we count on our bookings just like you count on your paycheck.  So even a cancellation with a call can have moments of creating havoc and you should make every attempt to make sure a scheduled appt happens.  Lastly, many times some posts and reviews show a real lack of regard for our fellow human being---and I shared an itimate life changing period of my life--to say slow down smell the roses, smile more,be less judgemental, be more tolerate, don't be a bumper car running through your day, if you can't say something nice than maybe it would be better to say nothing, say hi to people you pass--it let's them know they're not invisible---and live everyday like it's your last because it could be.  Within my website is a piece of writing I have cherished for over 20 years and the author is unknown--but it sums up what my day and truly my life walk is all about it is called "At Days End"---Stumpy--your e-mail was renewing to my soul.  Life Is Wonderful!!! Lots of Love, Cheridan

There are several other venues (Boards) that allow the posting of no-shows.  They usually ask that you only post a partial phone number and a first name.  Maybe when they see thier name on the rip-off boards they will be more respectful and cancel with a phone call!

My phone rang 3 out of 7 times (.427 average, good enough for the major leagues) but none for my sceduled appointment. When I called her numerous times, apparently my voice messages went nowhere.

I am glad I don't rely on this f@@#@#g cell-phone for a living.

Is this what happened with another provider or are you my No Show?  Maybe I'm having a moment here but if this was directed at me I don't use a cellphone and this isn't the way it played out.
If you were venting about another experience ignore this it.

I was disparaging the state of cell-phone service (in general) and mine (in specific) 'glad I don't rely on f#$@@g cell phone for a living'.

And today their customer service (oxymoron) reps are swamped, ostensibly due to the holiday.
