I don't know if I have ever used the term 'hobby' either.

I have hobbies. I like to read, I like to use my computer, I like to ride motorcycles, travel, etc.

Having sex with beautiful women, while fun, doesn't get classified as a hobby any more than going out to a fine restaurant does (in my book). But I guess that is just my definition. I am not about to argue with anyone who disagrees about it.

I think, in the end, it is just a name people use and among many, it stuck.

A vice? I think it can be addicting :) I wouldn't care if someone thought it was a vice. I am not above enjoying a few relatively harmless vice's now and then, as long as I am in control of them and not the vices in control of me.

If this is a "hobby" for me and a "profession" for her, aren't I perpetuating old negative stereotypes?

It simply explains the dynamics at work.

It IS a profession for the provider.

Does it really matter what we call it?  I think it's going to take a huge paradigm shift before "hobbying" goes mainstream.

If we called it "whoring around" it would be much more offensive to those wonderfull ladies we pursue so diligently.

Euphemisms are a way of life I am affraid.  Call a spade a spade and you are likely to get sued or beat up.

What was "swinging" in previous decades is now "The Lifestyle"
Getting clean and sober is now "in recovery" (and en vogue)
I mean would you eat Jello if it were "processed horse hooves?"
But I digress....
It matters not what we call things so much as how we perceive them as both individual and society.  So to call this activity
a "hobby" is not so deceptive.

Yes, the terms are important. I wonder if the paradigm shift will be necessary to lighten the stigma of our "hobby". A lot of the stereotypes of drugged-out women controlled by pimps are blown out of the water by the intelligent, educated women that populate the internet. I certainly don't expect our righteous lawmakers and LE to embrace the hobby, but I wonder if they may eventually turn their attentions to the real problems at hand.

Probably just wishful thinking on my part!

I've always rejected the notion of vice. Something I might find pleasurable, personally rewarding, and just plain fun is deemed to be "vice" by some uptight white andlo god fearing judgmental slob with more political clout than I've got. Great...

Addiction and compulsive destructive behavior.... You know stuff that motivates one to rob banks and mug people on the street... That's bad stuff.

But I wonder if you could score your stuff at SavOn and talked with your neighbors about your most recent trip or opium dream wouldn't lead to fewer addicts and lsee crime... Open use... open recovery options.... Instead of the "court card."

Wouldn't it be cool to be able to tell your wife or neighbor your most recent "WowNikki" experience... Or tell your wife "FF used warm water and it just ROCKED!"
