Except that they DID do a lot for Euro Culture and DO have vastly superior food industries. And I am sure you are unfailingly polite to foreigners, always speaking their language...

Well the only thing about French Cuisine I like is french onion soup and Brie Cheese.
Besides French is not the universal language and they can't expect people to learn their language flawlessly just to visit on vacation once. Go to any other country people will bend over to help you. In france you get snubbed like a lowlife for not pronoucing a word perfectly. The french are so damned self important and arrogant. I think the french language causes brain damage is superiourity complexes. Look at the french speaking idiots to the noth in Quebec.
The Itallians are far more friendly and accomodating, for that matter so are the Germans, Swiss and Austrians.
I have been to france several times and quite honestly its always the same, Stuck up people.
Italian food is far superior to french food in my mind.
By the time I'm that age, it may take a 17-year-old to raise the ole flag.
But seriously, show some respect for the French. They produce the best second-raters in the world.
Although I hear it's just a rumor that they decided that 9/11 was the beginning of World War III, and decided to beat the rush by surrendering immediately.
And how 'bout that French military history! The last time they won a war without American help, they were fighting other Frenchmen.

Try to remember that the US WOULD NEVER HAVE WON INDEPENDANCE WITHOUT THE FRENCH! Personally I think the Rev was not a good idea and probably done for the wrong reasons (the avg Briton paid much higher taxes than the colonists)- but for you Birch boys, that idea must stick in the craw.
Personally- I am not a francophile, but I do give their culture some respect.
Yeah, but what have they done since then? Thats like calling the Islamic wourld progressive and enlightened because they created algebra in the 14th century. But they have done squat since then.

And I do remember the French contribution to American independence. Probably know more about it than you. And we've repaid the debt twice. So I'd appreciate SOME FUCKING APPRECIATION from a nation and people that owes us their collective asses.
As for French culture, it, too, would be German culture but for the United States.
They do appreciate us for stuff- just not when our foreign policy is whack. But actual froggies love "le McDo", our music, our films "le drugstore", Coke, Levis, - all the good things about us...
When we thumb our noses at them they get a bit put off (World court, Kyoto, Iraq, etc)
And our incessant whininess annoys most of the rest of the world too
