What does a Relist Panel Member do?

For each provider that emails in an apology each of you will receive an email containing the provider’s apology, our notes on the provider, and the reason for her delisting.  Any identifiable information will be removed so you won’t be able to tell which provider sent in the apology. You will reply simply with a yes or no.  If two of the three Relist Panel Members say yes, the provider will be relisted.

How many Relist Panel Members are needed?

We need 3 panel members and 3 backup panel members for a total of 6. The requirements are the same for either.  This is just to insure we can maintain the credibility of the project.

How will you select those 6 Relist Panel Members?

We will receive emails from members who are interested in being on the panel. We will check to see if they meet the requirements. Of those that qualify we will randomly chose six on Jan 1st

What are the requirement and rules to be a panel member?

1. You must be a VIP member of TER in good standing.

2. You must be impartial. (We will check muaaaaah….)

3. You must not be a provider or have no direct  connection with any provider (living together, family, etc)

4. You must have the time to perform your duties as a Relist Panel Member.  We may receive thousands of apology letters. You are responsible for reading every single one until we have relisted our 100 providers.  If you do not believe you have the time to do this please do not apply for the position.  If we feel that you are unable to perform the position you will be replaced immediately.

5. You must have the ability to keep it secret.  If we believe that you have told anyone of your position as a Relist Panel Member we will immediately remove you from that position and ban your account.

How do I sign up?

If you are a VIP member and would like to be on this panel send us an email to [email protected] with the subject “Relist Panel”,  your TER username, and why you want to be on the panel. We will choose on January 1st.

OK, so I AM an anal retentive obsessive compulsive (AROCD-CIM), and take umbrage at the disqualifying rules:

A. You must be a VIP in good standing, while B. You must have no direct connection with any provider.

Given that the very raison d'être of TER IS for the direct connection with providers, this would exclude any panelist who has ever seen a provider...and yet they must be a VIP... which means they couldn't have honestly authored any reviews (since they haven't had provider connection).

QED: This leaves only qualifying candidates who have no reviews, have never seen a provider, and are currently paying for their VIP membership.

Given this puzzling conundrum so tightly wrapped in the enigmatic shroud of confusion, I'm left pondering the delightful and purely gratuitous graphic of the provider connection.

from the panel.

Rather, only those that have a more than client/provider relationship.

That would probably (and correctly) obivate my involvement because of my close association with Beverly Fisher; but otherwise I could be a member as I meet the other criteria.

I agree with mrfisher in that I think the Staff meant " no connection to a provider" in terms of a relationship with a provider that is more than client/provider, ie. living together, being married to a provider, being related to a provider, etc.
At least that's how I interepreted it.

It only disqualifies boyfriends, husbands, brothers, fathers, sons, cousins, uncles, grandfathers, nephews, and roommates of providers. I don't think it was meant to disqualify a client.

I'm surprised that being so AROCD-CIM that you missed this little detail
3. You must not be a provider or have no direct  connection with any provider (living together, family, etc)
obviously you would not be counted out for being with a provider, just living with or being related to one
