Ladies and Gentleman, please note that someone has created an alias "gcin" + capital "i" + "a" ...

to try to confuse readers of LA board: http://theeroticreview.com/msgBoard/ViewMsgBody.asp?BoardID=1&Page=1&Messageid=99029 .  Similarly a person (probably the same one) created another alias "PrettyBoyF" + capital "i" + "oyd" to mimic the alias "PrettyBoyFloyd" which belongs to another member.

Even though this is mainly a matter involving members of LA discussion board, since I have posted a number of messages here using my TER handle and have posted numerous messages here using my aliases, I think it is important for readers of this board to make aware of this as I no longer monitor this board as closely as I did in the past.

Depending on the font used by one's PC, gcinIa is almost indistinguishable from gcinla (GCinLA) which is my TER handle.

Even though it was probably posted as a prank, I don't think members of TER boards need more confusion about who said what in various issues.  Once an alias is created, it is hard to resist the temptation to use it again.

I am fortunate that I caught this early and made note of it.  If I was as busy as a few weeks ago or went away on long trips like I did last year, this person could post damaging messages about others and I wouldn't know anything about it.  Some readers would think that I am the one who is responsible.

I have posted more than 1000 messages in LA board using only 2 aliases, one at a time.  The only reason why I revealed my TER handle last November was as a response to the call by GND for the abolishment of using alias in posting messages.

Aliases are tolerated in TER to allow people to post messages without revealing their ids.  It should not be abused as an attempt to impersonate a member or confuse others.
