If you are doing business on Yahoo, and they have a complaint on content, then they may shut down your account with ALL functions. You have probably lost everything. The best thing to do is contact them, and you may be able to get them to allow you to get email and addresses and such.
My best advice to you as a computer professional is use a POP3 service and put any webpages on a sexually oriented site. There are lots of alternatives that you have some control of for web pages. POP3 services won't read or intercept your mail without a court order and don't censore you. Keep addresses and personal info on YOUR COMPUTER and NO WHERE ELSE. You will be amazed at what you will find in those service agreements!
If it was locked for security reasons it means that someone tried to enter your e-mail account and was unable to use the right password. Same thing goes for hotmail. Usually sets after 3 bad tries.
You know, this is the first time I've seen ANY way to contact Yahoo! I know they're huge and everything, but would it kill them to have a Contact Us button or link on thier main page? You shouldn't have to go to an address as obtuse as help.yahoo.com to find a link mailbox.
Girls, geocities is free but that doesn't mean it's good value. Pay the few dollars a month and register your own domain name and host through Yahoo. You can then use their Site Builder software to put together your own site, which you can change in a flash. It's simple - I pulled together my site in an afternoon. Better still, if you host through Yahoo you use their inbuilt FTP to upload your site with one click.
I am so sorry you had to experience yahell first hand. Unfortunately Yahoo doesn't particularly "approve" of those of us who are involved in this hobby. I even tried paying for the most expensive package they had available and it lasted for quite some time...then one day months later POOF it was gone! I lost all of my email addy's, schedule info, along with a very extensive web site. Best of luck to you sweetie, hope it all works out! Best Wishes! Katy
