That's because fee is being paid by the merchant and not the customer. Every time a customer hands me their credit card it doesn't mean they are paying more, it means I'm working for less then the price on my sign.

Its to bad company's get greedy (as in ibill). A mear $1.99 processing fee for our little $20 VIP monthly bill is crazy. Welcome to Corporate America....LOL

Then you get the processing fee from your credit card....or at least I do....
Fess Fees Fees everyone wants there share of the pie!!!!!

...but they should be "invisible" to the customer.

When you charge something in a store, VISA/MC takes a cut, but it's invisible to you -- the item costs the same as if you'd paid cash.

When I received an email from iBill telling me they had set up a "virtual debit card" for me -- without my permission. Some research then showed that the company has a fairly shady history. It wasn't worth it to me to keep paying for a TER subscription at that point. Thankfully, they now offer CCBill, with which I've had no problems, so I "re-upped." :)
