Boy, lots of discussions about terminology. Provider, hobbyist, etc. None of the terms that are commonly used on this board are meant to be derogatory. We all know the truly mean spirited descriptions and let's refrain from using them. Other than that, try to avoid being thin skinned!

I only bring it up for the sake of discussion, and because I did run across a gal who had some hesitancy about it. Her main problem was that she thought the term provider to be indiscrete. She's concerned about LE coming after her if she's associated with the word on the discussion board.

Frankly, I see nothing more indiscrete about the word Provider, than the word Companion, and LE isn't going after anyone because of their activities on the boards. The Web mall ads are far more high-profile and offer much more information for LE to work from.
