Two things that really work 1. Crazy Browser, you can set your own options as to what or whom you want to pop up or not. 2. Adware 6.0 by Lavasoft it scans your memory, registry, hard, removable and optical drives for known datamining, aggressive advertising, and tracking components you will be amazed at some of the stuff you have on your computer that you will be stunned to find out.
They are both free and these are the links for both.
I posted this on another board, but can use all the help I can get .. all of a suddent I found yesterday my computer started blasting pop-ups, including porn, whenever I try to open this site or any other related. Got other kinds of pop-ups when going to other sites. (Casinos, etc). The windoes seem to be from someplace called odysseus marketing .. not like some of the others I've seen.
Was able to stop some but not all with pop-up stopper, but unable to remove the problem with Ad-Aware or spybot ..
ANy ideas from techhies on diagnosing or eliminating this?
Netscape 7.0 has a built in pop up blocker. And I use Zone Alarm too - very good at stopping attacks on your machine.
You should also get a virus detector. AVG is free. Scan your computer on a regular basis just in case something bad gets on it.
One more thing - this may be beyond your skill level. Run 'msconfig' and select 'Startup'. See what is running. If you've loaded a File Share program like Kazaa there may be a bunch of things running on your machine that you don't want. But be careful shutting anything off - if you turn the wrong thing off your machine may not boot up again. You should probably get a friend who knows computers to help you out in person with this.
That's why I don't go beyond things that are readily available to download. It sucks to try and give someone a little free advice and then they come back and blame you because they deleted some drivers and dll's not knowing what they were, "oh, it had a funny little dll or drv or something like that at the end, "
The newest fad in internet spam, Messenger Spamming. Follow the link bellow for detailed description of what it is how they find you, and how to stop it.
the usual disclaimers apply.

PS: Users behind a broadband router/firewall probably don't need this.
Actually the new Google tool bar includes pop-up blocking and seems to do agood job. It has some other nice features to, best of all it's free. It only works with Internet Explorer though.

i got.....purge IE, adaware(free), spybot(free), and spyblaster(free), popup killer(free)
pIE controls your cookies and cache. spybot and adaware kills spyware and cookies. spyblaster kills spyware that take over your address bar. popup killer does just that.
The best pop-up stopper I have seen is located at www.panicware.com. They have a free addition which stops pretty much all pop up ads and you can turn it off by clicking its icon on the toolbar.
