I agree.

Being professional is being professional.  It's like telling all of this to your colleage on a conference call or listening to your waitress drone on and on about her personal life while you're just trying to eat your steak.  

Of course, like anything, once you have a rapport I guess some of these things come out.  If I were a man, however, I'd probably not want to hear it until then (of course, the bodily functions I'd never want to know about).

I do mention traffic tickets

warn my repeats when scheduling that I might be having my monthly...some don't care as they want me for social activites

talk about home construction that I am doing to the house or my new kitty

warn clients that I am sneezing today or let my new client know that the food is upsetting me and give me some minutes to take an antacid esp if we try a new sushi restaurant (esp after hurricane season when there is more bad sushi out there)

I have clients new to the hobby as me all the time if I have ever been robbed by force or physically assaulted and I let me know that a close friend always knows where I am at for safety and I only take one new client per day and I don't stay at my hotel after the appt for safety reasons.

I do tell all clients to email me the day before they call as my cell phone service sometimes doesn't record the call right and my missed calls only holds 10 calls so if some guy calls me 8 times to see if I am available, he has done me a disservice.
