Does anyone know if you can contract this in your throat from performing oral sex on  some one that has it. or maybe some other infection like Strepthroat

I have been told that more than an hour of deep throat can lead to a sore throat. But hten more than an hour of anal can lead to a pain in the ass.

Group B Strep (GBS) is historically a serious and potentially fatal disease of pregnant women, neonates (infants less than 1 month of age), nursing home patients, and older (> 65 yoa) adults with chronic serious diseases (such as heart disease, diabetes, breast cancer and liver disease, alcoholism, etc,etc.

However, the disease can occur in the younger and healthier adult, nonpregnant population though with an incidence of only about 2-4 per 100,000 (very small percentage).[1][2]  

GBS has been isolated from cultures of the human rectum, vagina, cervix, urethra, penis, skin, and pharynx.[3]  Although transmission rates are quite low for otherwise healthy people, the offending organism likes to live in the body environment frequented by the hobbyist and provider.

So my advise (from Hill Street Blues): "You all just be careful out there!"

"Strep Throat" usually only refers to Beta Hemolytic Strep Group A.  Most other groups are not resulted from Labs as Strep Throat; most doctors won't tell you that you have Strep if it's not Group A.  I work in an ER and I seldom see anyone given antibiotics if anything other than Group A is found.  The doc may prescribe antibiotics prior to the culture result if they "suspect" Gp A, but I've never done a callback if they weren't treated and some other (not Group A) strep strain came up on culture.
