For those in the SF Bay Area and a few other areas around the country, there's MetroPCS which allows for unlimited calling for a flat fee and there is no statement involved. You pay by credit card over the internet or in person at a walk in location. It's a great way to go.

Many of us have cell phone plans in which we add family members.  What I didn't realize (until a friend got busted by his wife) was that with Sprint (and others) any member of the plan has access to detailed phone call info of all parties.  With that info, all a suspicous SO has to do is survey hubby's phone bill, plug the phone #'s into Google, and up comes the web site of the escort (usually).

The solution for me:  carry a 2nd cell phone from Virgin Mobile.  It's a pay as you go plan, usually a loser deal as your primary phone due to high per minute cost, but since it's rarely used, will only cost you $7 per month inclusive of taxes.

If the SO discovers the phone, my answer will be:  it's my backup phone since I've frequently forgotten my primary when traveling.  And I really can't be without a phone when traveling.

Since it's a pay as you go plan, there is no paper bill or on line record of your calls to be discovered.  Slick little system.

I've been hobbying for a number of years now... don't own a cellular phone and won't buy one either.  I have not found it to be a problem at all.

I make contact with the lady, she gives me the general location.  When I get into the general location I grab a pay phone, utilize a phone card I picked up at local department store and call her for the exact place to go.  Sure, the problem is the lady can't contact you at the last minute, but so far none of the ladies have had to contact me.

No paper trail, no numbers to trace, no monthly fee, no roam fee, no unused minutes... just a simple calling card I pick up at the kiosk in front of the counter at the drug store... can't beat it!

I myself require to have a contact number of some sort for the very reason that something could happen between the last conversation or email and the actual appointment. I also frequently travel for the benefit of my gentlemen as well, so that is an important factor. It's nothing for me to drive an hour away from home to meet someone. I've of course in that time had my share of delays. Having a cell number to contact the person, gives them a heads up on whats happening before they begin to worry or think you've let them down. Although I always leave early to compensate for anything that could come up, how can you predict 5 wrecks on the turnpike all at the same time, that slows things down so much it takes you 40 mins to get 2 miles!! I had this happen and wondered what sort of alternate reality I stepped into!??! lol But things worked out nd we had a lovely time and looking to meet again. But it was the fact I was able to call him and tell him the situation and give him the option to change the time or reschedule for another day, I think that really helped. That's my expereince anyway. ::shrugs::

They are quickly going the way of the dodo bird, cell phones are making them extinct. Harder and harder to find.

many providers will not pick up the phone if the call comes from a pay phone.

Well you need to tell the lady ahead of time that you don't have a cellular and will be calling within 5 minutes of the appointment... like I said, In almost 10 years I've never had a problem with that with any provider.

Just work through their website after you log on.  It shows phone numbers from which calls were transmitted and received.  Of course, if no one knows how to access your information, you should not lose any sleep (at least from the cell phone issue alone).

I'm the only one that has the password vs. Sprint that gives the password out to anyone.  In fact, if you call Sprint and give them the Social Security # of the primary user, they'll give you the password on the phone.  Yikes.

That's the way to do it!  It makes plenty of sense.

Yeah, I just went to Google and typed in a few of my favorite providers and sure enough, some of them are there for the checking.  Google spiders webpages, and one of the basis for a TER review is that the provider has a webpage.

If this issue is something of interest to you, take a look at this thread linked below

I'd be really careful here -- rumor has it that the Virgin Mobile phones (specifically the Kyocera V5) is GPS locator capable. I don't know if it's actually enabled, but if it is...

Every want to know where those kids are? Get em a V5 slider. Then you can track them on the web!

I think most new phones have this feature.  I know my Sprint phone does.  But each of them has the option of on/off or on only for 911.

Does anyone know if the "Big Brother" option of tracking the user on the web truly exists for the general public?

It is possible and if you've gotten a new cell phone (mid to high end in technology) in the past few years, then chances are good that you are equipped to be tracked.

The question you first need to answer;

Is my wife/SO/GF capable of using this technology?
If your answer is no, then;
Does my wife/SO/GF have the means to hire someone to track me?
Or would she just contact http://www.cheaters.com/index.php ?

Dang, I didn't know it's available in the market already!  That is super powerful.  You can sure keep track of people that way.

The technology has certainly existed for awhile.  Some newer car models have them, and Mercedes has had them for years.  So when your car gets in an accident, your car will automatically 911 your location.

According to EWeek, for everyone else, it's passive and used only by 911.

Nextel has the ability to use it to track your staff on jobs.

Yeah the whole getting busted thing isnt too fun. It happened to me last year with my cell phone, luckily I made up a quick bullshit story to through my lady off the scent about the call being made by a friend of mine so he wouldnt get caught and I just didnt think to tell her about it.

I learned though, and no I use payphones and office phones for long distance. But I mostly stick with local girls so they number isnt one I have to dial out of the areacode even when I am out on business.

all that other phone business sounds too complicated to me.
